Corndog: Your heater core receives hot "coolant" from the engine at all times. The problems that you are describing seem to be associated with the HVAC Controller in your dash which controls the air flow doors on the Heater/AC Plenum under the dash. The root cause of some of these problems is a lac...

From what I've seen, they are hit and miss. There's a local here with one on a stock '01 WS6. It dynoed really high...467 HP at the wheels, but it only runs high 12's at around 113 MPH. I'm not impressed by the kit on it, but there are some other cars out there that have responded well to them. A fe...

They aren't bad at all. You'll need some mechanical aptitude to put it in though. Probably the biggest thing is getting the checkballs put back in the correct location when you're putting the valve body back in, but I believe the shift kit will have a diagram of where they go. Go to an autoparts sto...

a .22 bullet costs about 10 cents. AMEN!!! I hate cats though. Maybe this will work as well: My mom's cat had a problem with getting on my 'Hawk (as well as my other vehicles) when it/they were outside. Every time I found paw-prints on them (which were usually muddy and smeared putting a lot ...

Also, feel the two heater hoses. They should be the same temperature. If the inlet is hot, and the outlet is cold, you're gonna need a heater core. :(

Actually, 5th is an overdrive gear (.7:1 ratio), and 6th is a double overdrive (.5:1 ratio). That's why it's so hard to pull in 6th. Also, factory gears in a 4th gen. 6-speed car are 3.42's. :)

What temperature does your engine run? Are you sure that the engine is properly bled? I'd check both of those. My '96 Z28 has a 160* thermo in it, and the engine does not get warm enough to provide adequate heat. I swap it out for a factory 190* thermo during the winter months. Also, make sure your ...

Re: Speed Demons

I don't know if some of you guys are yanking our chains but I find it hard to believe that some of you hit speeds over 140 (some of you are talking about 165?!). Not that the cars don't have the power but at those speeds you are in God's hands only! My past 2 f-bodies have been convertibles and tha...

Now here is a good question: I have removed the OEM HU, but what will happen if I re-sell this unit to someone? Did it lock itself upon disconnection, and will the purchaser have a problem w/re-install? It is a good question, because Theftlock is picky. Sometimes it locks, sometimes it doesn't. I w...
