Re: Brake switch failure

Turns out it was the turn-signal switch. A portion of that switch has the brake-signal running through it but not the high-rise. Interesting.

Brake switch failure

Seems the brake switch is messing up. High-rise tail-light and turn-signals work but brake pedal doesn't illuminate lamps. Also cruise doesn't work. Removed the knee kick-panel under the steering-wheel and checked the brake switch (seemed fine) touched it and moved it a bit, then tried the brakes an...

Driving in snow

Surprisingly better than I remember on my 1999 with a nice little kick-out in turns. Very controllable if you feather the clutch. I don't recommend any sudden stops though ;p

Re: Hooker blackheart

It's okay. I would have gone with SLP but the Blackheart is fine enough. You won't see the muffler at all, period. I promise.

Re: Weepy Pumpkins

Turns out my rear-diff fluid level was good. I had them add the 1oz GM additive for good measure when they changed it per a later service-tech bulletin on LS1 Tech website. Car is running sweetly.

Anyone try the SLP Subframe kit? Opinions on that?

Re: Weepy Pumpkins

Yes, you're right! I didn't have my Hypertech Programmer III with me from the shop to home so I drove without the fan adjustment and the temp went to about 190 as expected. Got home and programmed the fan-on to 160-'stat so all will be well. I owned a 1999 Firehawk from 2000 to 2007 as my daily driv...

Re: Weepy Pumpkins

Well, I just got it 2 months ago here in snowy Colorado and still was able to put 1600 miles on it with almost every day being below 20 degrees, so there's that. I had a 1999 #423 that was my daily and only driver in North Dakota working at Cavalier Air Force Station. I used winter tires and did jus...

Weepy Pumpkins

I noticed there's a little "moisture" near my left rear axle next to the pumpkin differential, but it's not dripping out anywhere. It's about an inch or two starting from the rear-diff and continues towards the wheel. It doesn't seem like there's a leak, though I noticed the rear differential is a b...

Firehawk Supercharged badge G8

The little Firehawk badge that goes on our ashtray center console is pretty cool. I noticed there's a scant few "Firehawk supercharged" badges on G8 Firehawks. Anyone know where I can find this? I've looked everywhere!

Re: 2002 vs 1999 idle

Agreed. I put 500 miles on it this month. Needs to be driven, yes! I just got it last month! If you listen closely, you can hear a few dips in the idle!

Re: 2002 vs 1999 idle

It's a bit quiet in the video, possibly due to the nature of the Nexus 5x recording phone's compression mic. According to the documentation the LM purchased was an LM-1 bought and installed around 2003. I got this replacement for my 1999 (I still miss #423) last month. I don't think the LM-2 existed...
