There is a spray on material that i used in my doors back in the late 90s that worked very well, without a lot of weight penalty. I'll see if i can find what it was.

If he already has Zaino on the car then he doesn't need to use Dawn. Will it hurt anything...no, but its really not necessary. Any other carnuba based waxes and debris will be removed by the clay bar anyway.
