Re: Wheel refinishing on '99 chrome wheels?
google wheel repair in your area. Or google powder coaters, wheel chromers or wheel refinishing in your area. If you can't find any, go to a couple of body shops and ask them who they use and then call those places I'm going to revive this old post. It is practically impossible to re-chrome the SLP...

Re: Torsen vs Auburn???
The Auburn clutches wear just in simple cornering.
There are no clutches in an Auburn. Bronze cones against steel gears.
Not rebuildable, but they work quite well until you add the wrong gear oil...

Re: A few items for sale
After inspecting the photos a little closer could that be the gear ratio written on it. That would make sense. 3:23? Yep, that's the ratio for an auto Firehawk. Mine is a manual with 3.42:1. But I could use all the rest of the parts to build a replacement for a bent housing I have to replace. I ass...

Re: A few items for sale
I have interest in the rear end.
Three questions:
Where is it now? (Affects shipping costs)
What gear ratio? (Auto vs. MN6)
What posi? (Torsen or Auburn?)
Thanks,
Larry

Re: Good deal on Castrol Edge Synthetic oil
I used to use Fram filters until I did a little research. Never again. I use Royal Purple oil and their filters. Amen Brother! Fram is the worst product line in filters. I bet others on here have blown them up, had the rubber seal blow out, or had them fold the element up inside. And that's not tal...

Re: bilstein suspension
I don't have an LS (Camaro?). As far as I can tell no Firehawk verts got the bilstein upgrade (at least from '95-'97). Just curious to see if anyone knew why, as I'm thinking of adding it to mine. But, since Black Robe pointed out the LS got the upgrade I'm guessing there is no reason for me not to...

Re: My 2001 Firehawk has issues with the oil pressure
The SC must be fed lubrication oil from the engine, so the cause of your unusual OP behavior may be related to whatever was done to plumb in that oil supply and/or the oil return. Can you find a set of instructions for that work?Maddripp wrote:Oh yeah I forgot to mention it has a Vortec Supercharger

Re: outside temp display on rear view mirror
Yes, I've done it. It was a couple of years ago but I'll try to find my original source. I bought it new from the OEM suppliers of these mirrors. It is almost identical to the one in my Avalanche and it does have 2 map lights. EDIT: Okay I found it. Go here http://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com and s...
