Re: what insurance?
Hagerty did allow for driving to work, but very sparingly. Still no grocery store or other errand usage, and it cost about 50-55% more! I don't know your age, or age of your car, but if I were to insure my Hawk on my general policy for 6 months of the year it would cost about the same as I paid for ...

Re: what insurance?
I currently use Grundy after being referred by several street rod buddies, but previously used Hagerty on the 2 cars I had before the Hawk. Grundy has much better rates (about 50% lower), and they place no limit on yearly mileage. Really the only real stipulation they have, is no work or errand use....

Re: Need 2016 Rally info
Thanks Brian, that is what I needed to know! Can't make the dinner, but I am going to try really hard to make it there for at least a few hours with or without the Hawk.

Need 2016 Rally info
Going to try to make it to the Rally on either Sat. or Sun., really want to bring the Hawk, but can't stay the whole day. Am I committed to being there all day and to the judged show if I want to park with all the Hawks, or do I have to park in the general show parking? I've never attended the show ...

Re: 94 HAWK W/ LOW COOLANT LIGHT STUCK ON
When I purchased my Hawk, the water pump had just been replaced and the coolant flushed, but there was obviously still air bubbles in the system and the light was on. Re bled the system again, and after a couple miles of driving it went out and has stayed off since. The sensors are also known to go ...

Re: No Torsen?
Everything I've read about torsen says it acts like an open diff when jacked up in the air, so spin one wheel, and if the other turns opposite direction it has the torsen.

Re: No Torsen?
I don't know, every source I've looked at says that gm made the torsen standard equipment starting in 99 through the end of production in 02 for all v8 f-bodies, and that was why SLP started offering the auburn hd with the aam cover as their optional rear end.

Re: No Torsen?
Glad I could help. It's strange that your 99 listed the torsen on the SLP second sticker, since they started using the auburn hd that year!

Re: No Torsen?
Also, I forgot to mention in my last post that any gm product with a limited slip of any kind has an RPO code of g80, even the lockers on trucks, which causes a lot of confusion among owners.

Re: No Torsen?
According to several sources, including Mac Logan's Firehawk book, all 99-02 v8 f-bodies came from gm with torsen diffs! Even wikipedia says 99-02 had torsen under the heading of "Applications"
