Re: Best headers with SLP Loudmouth?

Texas Speed stainless. 1 3/4" & 1 7/8". 2 cars. The 1 3/4" fits better, tighter to the chassis. 1 7/8" has clearance issues. Both cars are lowered on Stranos.

Re: Speaker replacement

The CDT subs are the easiest pieces to hook up. While you got the old factory junk out, slap some sound deadener against the back wall behind the speakers. Provides a bit more punch.

Clay barred & waxed the lf fender to get it as slick as the rest of the car. If I could only control the dust in the garage, I'd be able to leave it uncovered so I could enjoy the view.

Re: High flow cats for an '02 TA Hawk

Have had the car back for a couple of weeks now & forgot to post the body shop results. The fender is blemish free again. No sign of where the flaws were. Only thing is, they didn't blend the fender into the front fascia. It's a bit off. But not for long. They will be fixin' that.

Re: Auburn and Billstein vs stock

I've got 2 2002 Trans Ams, a WS6 & a Firehawk. Both are lowered on Strano springs with Koni ocas. The Firehawk is set to full hard & corners like a slot car on rails. I feel every bump in the road. The WS6 is full soft & the ride is much more forgiving. Of course it can't handle cornering like the H...

Re: What did you do to your 'Hawk today?

Got it back from paint, which was color matched, & had to give it it's 1st bath in over 3 years. Very dusty from the body shop. Full detail with clay bar, wax & polish. Machine polished various spots. Had forgotten how gooood my Hawk looks with a fresh detail. It won't be 3 years between details aga...

Could also be lower control arm bushings. If yours have fittings, grease 'em.

I tested the relays with a multi meter & using the ac to load, checked continuity. The thermostat can be checked by turning the hvac knob to full hot with no fan. Warm up car & feel the upper radiator hose. If it's cold, it's not open.

Picking it up from the body shop tomorrow. Color matched paint on the lf fender that was scratched. It's been there 2 & 1/2 weeks. I'll post results when I get it home.

Re: Buying a Firehawk--where to service/maintain? GM dealer

Agreed on avoiding the dealerships. Highway robbery goes on there. I bought a set of wheels from an outside source. I was shorted 5 lug nuts & caps. I got the caps from the local Chevy dealer, but declined the lug nuts when I found out they wanted $60. I used an old set.

They are also buying the items that got damaged or disappeared while the car was in their care. Black onyx fuse box covers were missing & a polished, stainless front bumper support cover was damaged. Some idiot thought it just lifted off & bent the hell out of it. Never mind the bolts holding it down.
