Re: Zaino Question

Using small portions is key, and allowing enough time to dry - may take a while when cooler or humid. And I always endorse reading ALL of the applications instructions as well as the tips and tricks section of their web site, and rereading each aq few times untilit all makes sense, and even searchin...

Re: Zaino Question

What is the zaino process? I tried Zaino back in 01 on my 98 Firebird and didnt really like it has it changed since then?? Once you get through the initial application proces, it isn't any different than applying any other polish or wax so I'm not sure why you didn't like it. I always thought it wa...

As noted in thread 9806, it was a valid WS6, an actual WS6 was made with that VIN.

They do have some new items which replace or substitute for some of the previous products, like the Z1. Why did yo...

Re: New owner with a lot of questions

I was reading on another forum today that in order for a hawk hood to fit you have to have a hawk bumper. Is that accurate with the lt1's or just the ls1's or did someone lie to the guy? I spent all day calling around trying to find a hood, I found 3 for less than $100, but none of them have nostri...

Re: New owner with a lot of questions

A WS6 hood on a 93-96 screams either FAKE or WRECKED. You're correct. You're starting to catch on. But ony partially: But that doesn't mean someone could have replaced it earlier with a WS6 hood if it was wrecked before too tho, ... Ya just never know, ..., A WS6 hood on a 1993-1996 Firehawk ...

Re: Fake Hawk on eBay?

So did they get a plaque for #85 and stamp a 2 in front of it? I thought the font for the numbers was different than what is in that pic.
Fairly rare to have #285 with only 86 made, eh?

Re: New member with 96 Firehawk

The RPO code for LT1 Hawks was R6V.
I think you asked that, didn't see anybody answer.
I don't know why you also have WU6 - does anybody have an answer to that?

Re: Cold air vs Ram air

is intake air cooling allowed? putting a cooler on your baffle after the filter should increase hp. That aluminium idea would transfer engine heat to intake air better than the plastic, reducing your hp. Can you expand on the cooler after the baffle? I have no idea what that means. Cooler ON the ba...

With NBM or Black paint, try using Zaino on your Hawk. Use the claybar and the swirl remover as well. Also read all their tips and tricks.

Re: Thick Oil

I agree follow directions on seafoam.

Also plan for oil changes at 500 or 1K miles, until the oil looks better coming out. And add seafoam to the tank after cleaning out the oil issue.

Re: Cold air vs Ram air

Maybe you'd be satisfied with increasing applied torque instead of hp. Switching rear gears should give you extra kick. Not good enough? CAI will subtract from your Ram Air. is intake air cooling allowed? putting a cooler on your baffle after the filter should increase hp. That aluminium idea would ...
