Re: 2001 Formula Hawk #293 Restoration thread.

LMC Headlamp install, headlamp housing replacement Been awhile, with fall and winter approaching it's time to start wrenching again. Up next I decided to upgrade the headlamps from the stock sealed beams to the LMC Halogen bulb type. Disclaimer, this is really as simple as swapping your bulbs out, t...

Re: Help with P0135 & P0420 SES codes on 97 Firehawk LT1 M6

I just noticed the LT1 part of that, I've never had one so I don't know if it has 2 sensors up front, if not Sensor 1 should still be the one in front of the CAT

Change the pre-cat, drivers side sensor to start. I always suggest NTK since they are vented they hold up a little better.

Re: 2002 Firehawk Trans Am Convertible

With 60K on it, I'd ask in the $24-25K range with the expectation of getting $19-22K. Whatever you decide, ask a little high but don't go so h that it drives buyers away

Re: Remember the Firehawk #1012 out in Guam?

GLWS that's a sweet ride. I don't think you are gonna pull $36K for it, but ya never know. Have you tried any of the auto auctions or gotten it professionally appraised? That will help you bring in some extra cash with documentation and get you closer to your goal.

Re: More suspension issues !

I don't think so, are you running stock wheels/tire size?? With strano springs it shouldn't be bottoming out so something must be amiss. Adjustable LCA's are more for centering the rear end, they don't really have a measurable effect on ride height.

Re: More suspension issues !

Did you put all the associated parts back in for the springs? I've known more than 1 person who missed the rubber cap part on the front mount and/or the isolators in the back. Could also be hitting your exhaust on the panhard bar set up. If you grab the tailpipe you shouldn't be able to move the exh...

Re: Suspension advice please

Swap the springs out for the original SLP Level 2 springs and shocks and make sure you replace the mounts, bushings and isolators. That kit is based off the Level 1 suspension which is higher performance but a bit more rough around the edges. The ACTUAL original style Bilsteins (have different valvi...

Re: 2001 Formula Hawk #293 Restoration thread.

Got some of the work done for the 10 bolt. It is FAR from show quality but the intent is functionality and reducing the possibility of rust in the future. **Important safety tip for this post, with the exception of the soap wear a respirator for all of these chemical treatments and paints and do the...
