desperate.. help with mustang??

Post by whitehawk#33 » Wed Apr 21, 2010 10:57 pm

I posted this on one of the mustang forums with no responses... As much as it probably hurts you guys could anyone help me out?? My buddy and I just finished installing comp cams, valve springs, and bbk headers in his 2000 gt. When we cranked it up it ran fine except for the loud valve like noise.. I am guessing that there is too much lash at the base of the cam's lobes. How would i go about fixing that? Could i shimmy up the lash adjusters to compensate?
Here are the specs for the cam, everything is bone stock expect for the cams and springs.
Comp Cam Data Sheet

Duration: 270 274
Duration @ .050" Lift: 234 238
Valve Lift: 0.55 0.55
Lobe Lift: 0.3 0.3

Valve Timing @ 0.05" Lift: Open Close

Thankyou!!

On second thought I beleive those paricular cams require valve relief piston. That noise he's hearing is most likely the valve hitting the piston.
