Progress report for Project 1995 Firehawk #046
Started it up today for the first time since last summer.........after replacing the neutral safety switch.
Then baby finally got to wear the new shoes!
Not sure that the black lug nut covers are doing it for me....may have to buy a set of the chrome ones.
Next weekend, I hope to install the new dash, remove the aftermarket ignition system, and reinstall all the factory ignition wiring/system, and correct the mis-wired cooling fan circuit. If time permits, I might even install the new SLP manual fan switch kit that I have. Stay tuned!

I attended my first car show of the season this past Sunday 4-21-13 at a local show. Great weather, 40 degrees early morning but warmed to 68 and sunny by 4:00 p.m. About 130 cars in attendance. I took a 95 medium red metalic convertible hawk and with 25 trophy's awarded I ended up with one. Sorry no pic's to post.

Re: What did you do to your 'Hawk today?
Moved the Hawk outside today for a badly need wash............drove up and down the road a couple times.....
Then pulled it back in on the "work side" of my shop" (it has been on the "storage side" since last fall)
Pulled the old dash out in pieces
Went to set the new one in place and realized I needed to remove the "A" pillar trim do that....to do that, I needed to remove the T tops which apparently have not been off in a very loooooong time as they were seized from rust . Haven't tried to take them off since I bought it, as it has just been sitting) Spent 2 hours just getting the T tops off, but once off, luckily without damage, I removed the handles and covers, then gave the rusted mechanisms a good bath of JB Blaster rust penetrating oil and got both of them them working freely again! Re-assembled and re-installed after setting the new dash in place. I didn't snap it in all the way because I discovered a crack around the passenger side A/C vent and decided I may just replace that dash section as well. so going to have to look for a good one of those now.
So I stopped with that and moved on to repairing/correcting the wiring for the cooling fans..........put her up on a set of ramps and got underneath for the first time and was greeted by this...... really?
Are you kidding me!!?? Wire nuts belong on building wiring NOT on cars! Got all the old/incorrect stuff pulled, and then the wife called me and told me dinner was ready so........will re-hook the fans next weekend and and install a factory wire harness for the battery/starter! Stay tuned.......

Did the first mod on the Hawk. I put an Isimple jack so that I could hook my Iphone to the radio. I have 1680 songs so it is much easier to listen to what I like to hear. Plus the added bonus that I can recharge the phone at the same time.

Washed, and dried... then meticulously Waxed the car with Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax. Love that stuff. smells good too! i did decide a clay bar'ing is in my very near future followed by a polish however. However, it is a "gasp" Daily Driver.... can't expect it to be 100% perfect...
