SLP acquired by Roush?

Post by TAdan » Fri Apr 19, 2013 9:40 am

I see some rumors swirling on other F-body boards that SLP has been acquired by Roush. Anyone know if there is any truth to these rumors?

I don't mean to spread false information, just wondering. Mods please feel free to remove this post if this is not the case.

Thanks.

I haven't found anything official yet, just posts on various message boards asking the same question. I figured this would be the right place to ask.

If it is true then my Mustang is ahead of the curve, it has Roush and SLP parts on it already.

Confirmed. SLP Performance Parts was sold to Roush. Ed and Dave kept SLP Specialty Vehicles.

Dave confirmed it on my board yesterday...

Should be a formal announcement coming soon.

Ah, ..., so I can see the Performance Parts being sold off, but the vehicle part is retained.
Seems reasonable.
Now they can take the funding & re-invest even heavier into the specialty vehicle focus.

Well, congratulations to SLP for that. When I was there last August they were cranking stuff out left and right. Must be good traction on the vehicle side of the business that requires their full attention. Also, selling the parts gives them capital to develop more concepts. This stuff takes A LOT of cash.

Dave, do you know if SLP will continue to reproduce the Firehawk window stickers or will that be coming to an end?
