Hello, I am a new owner, 2002, #706. I have seen photos of the build number, apparently on the engine, engraved. Can you tell me where to look? Thanks

The build # engraved on a plaque on the head was never offered by SLP or GM. Call SLP with your VIN and they'll be able to give you all of the info you need.

SLP never provided the build number on the Firehawks after 1996. The window sticker will have it should you be lucky enough to have it.

I think SLP did make those head plates many years ago, but they were an aftermarket add-on that you could purchase if you supplied them with your VIN number to validate your ownership. (Edited for clarification.)
But then stopped offering them sometime when production quit on the cars.

MBA might have offered them for a while, but not with the Firehawk logo & #.
And they went out of business a few years back.

I knew a guy who made some a few years ago, ..., But he doesn't do it anymore either simply because there is such a very limited need for them compared to the time back when the 4th-gen was a popular growing interest vehicle.

i do have the Certificate of Birth, #706. I was just wondering if it was engraved anywhere?

No. SLP did not engrave the build number anywhere on your car. The head plate was sold by SLP but it wasn't offered as standard or optional content when the car was built.

WAAAY too complicated for me.
Car is ultra clean, like it just rolled off the line.
Was stored in a climate controlled facility since 2002.

Arctic White with Tan leather. Hatchback, 6 speed.
Full SLP treatment, I think they did it all.
7,900 documented miles.
I plan on putting miles on it. It was clearly meant to be driven.
I will keep it nice, and in 10-15 it will still be a fairly low mile classic, but I'm going to enjoy it.
I estimate I'll do 2-3 thousand miles a year, so at 25 years it may be around 40K on the odometer
