slp hood identification
How can I tell if the hood on my hawk is an authentic SLP hood? It appears the front bumper was replaced on my car at some point. Just curious to know.
Re: slp hood identification
A picture would help. The front part of the hood (bottom of the grills) is straight, which made it necessary to trim the bumper for it to fit correctly.

I paid $10,200 Dealer Price (plus financing, but dealer was asking 10.2K) for a 2002 Firehawk #153 Auto Trans T tops 74,840 miles in near pristine condition. Everything worked and i didn't even bother to haggle the price. Blue book around here for a 2002 Trans AM auto was around 16K, so i jumped all over a hawk for 10. Not saying it isn't a good car, but 14K for a 95 seems high....

Re: slp hood identification
You sir, are correct! its an 02. front bumper was replaced, with another white bumper, color is a hair off, but i can live with it. i can see where the bumper was trimmed. Everything i can see from online and pictures etc is my hood is authentic. i would hate to have a suncoast repro or something of that nature on my baby... I will take some good pictures tomorrow and post them. i just figured there would be an SLP part number or serial number or something somewhere on the underside of the hood somewhere. so far it matches 100% with every authentic picture i can find.
Re: slp hood identification
ok, Defiantly NOT a suncoast repro, nothing on it matches other than exterior looks. its defiantly authentic according to my research. has the heat extractors, etc. makes me much happier knowing that. guess i asked a silly question before doing the reasearch.

I could lie and say that I looked too, but I just got lucky! The LT1 WS6 vs Hawk is even harder for me to describe.redhawk wrote:Zmaro......how do you know what year he is talking about?
OP, glad everything looks to be original!

SLP hoods have an SLP part number stamp in a spot you will not see when installed. I believe under the hood hinge mount.
