New Memeber 2002 FireHawk #833

Post by gscherer78ta » Tue Nov 05, 2013 1:07 pm

I bought this 2002 FireHawk last week and thought I would join this community to get access to the information I'm bound to need. I am well educated about 2nd gen TA's as I've owned a '78 Y88 Trans Am for 4 year and I owned a '78 back in 85-90. I'm going to try to post some pictures but I've not been very successful in the past but, I'm trying something different this time.

If this picture comes out on the post I'll post some more...

Thank you for the nice welcome! I see a few 4th gen TA's around the DFW area but not many.

This car only has 45K miles on it but this weekend I'm planning to replace all the fluids- Brake, Power steering, Coolant, rear diff., oil and filter ju so I can know where I am starting from. I was also thinking of changing the trans. fluid, has anyone here tried to do that on their own?

If anyone has some tricks to making any of the above jobs easier I would be grateful if you posted a link or just replied to this thread.

I got out for the first time last night and had a spirited drive- this car moves!!!!! What fun! I think the rear shocks are in need of replacement but otherwise it seems very solid. I noticed in the SLP manual I got with the car that I can buy the Bilsteins from SLP, I also saw that some Bilsteins on Summit, any chance they are the same thing?

Is it an automatic transmission car, or manual?

Thanks for the tip and the comments! I'm not sure how you can walk by yours and not drive it, I am loving how mine drives, whether going for a fun drive or just commuting- it's still a blast!

Welcome and glad you found us. I had info that car was in Montana at some point. Sound right to you?

The car has had several owners and was sold originally from a dealer in Montana.
Please PM me if you have additional information on this car. I would like to know more about it's history than what CARfax has.
