what happened to crawling back in the hole? [/quote]
I thought it might have been a unique and interesting car that's all. Like I said, sorry if I rubbed people the wrong way. I guess I didn't expect some of the sarcastic remarks from the Firehawk community.

The speedo cluster may be as it was when you bought it but according to Dave it isn't the original one. Do you know if the car was wrecked before or after you sold it?slphwk1 wrote:wow wow wow hey guys this is my old car! Re: 1994 Firehawk #181 questions
I bought the car from a family friend in 1998 w/12k miles and it was presented as never been wrecked never been in rain etc. and he was ordering a comp ta. to replace it. I owned it for almost 16 years and never found any indications that it was wrecked or that the speedo was replaced. It was my understanding that the LT1 a4 cars had 2 dif rear gears avail either a 2.73 w/110 speedo or a 3.42 with a 160. This is a huge mystery and a surprise to read all of this with Daves findings even more interesting. I replaced the cat back exhaust w/firehawk tips with a flowmaster cat back system. I replaced the 2.73 with a 3.73 set and purchased the power programmer to change ecm setting for the new gear. And yes i removed the cassette tape player and installed a cd player . The car was also lowered. I already miss this car it was a huge blast to drive. After buying my 02 m6 hawk vert i never drove the 94 anymore and i decided it had to go so i traded it in 3 weeks ago. The car has been a garage queen its whole life and i hope it gets a caring new owner. That being said 15k for a lt1 a4 car with 37k is a pipe dream imo. I am more than willing to answer any other questions about it and welcome any other info about it's "history" before me.
And thanks Scott you answered a question i had on its value several years ago after i bought my vert.

Re: 1994 Firehawk #181 questions
Hi slpwk1, thanks for jumping in to answer some questions.
Do you have any idea why it doesn't have the Firehawk rpo code R6V? The dealership emailed me an image of the rpo sticker, window sticker and slp sticker. I thought it was odd that it was a 2:73 equipped Firehawk from the factory because I thought that wasn't possible, but obviously it might have been, or might have slipped through the system for whatever reason.
I'm not interested in buying it, I live 1200 miles away. The car itself jus struck me as unique.

Be sure to check the RPO codes to be sure it's a true Firehawk, as for the TOTL exhaust, my 95 has it, and the tips are flat cut 2 1/2" OD. I love that exhaust, looks plain, but the sound and performance makes all the difference.

I will go with the crowd...to many issues to be a good buy if a stock FH is the goal. If you want to mod it up then use the info to cave the price.
