2001 SLP Firehawk 10th anniversary Convertible Value
I have an opportunity to buy a 2001 Firehawk convertible - black on black - 5.7 l with a six speed - SLP upgrades - 18000 miles - one owner with all the original paper documentation including the dealer invoice from GM etc. The car was fully-optioned as well as SLP mods of $10K based on the invoice from their shop in Michigan.
Can anyone give me an idea of what a fair purchase price might be .... the car has never been winter driven .. been garaged unless on the road. It's very very clean .. no marks in paint .. body straight as an arrow etc. I think it's a notch below excellent in terms of condition .. in fact cleaned up it looks "showroom".
Thanks !!

IMHO that 10th convertible will be one of the most sought after Firehawks down the road. The fact it's a six-speed is good. That seems to hold up just a bit better as well. If it's the car I am think of, it's been very well taken care of. Value? $20k + is my gut feel.

could be higher though.
Paid over $30 this winter for a 69 Firebird highly optioned convertible from So. CAL. It wasn't a TA, or would have been worth about $125K. I'm guessing this car will be worth over $20, but at this date - who knows. Time is needed for these to go up, and 14 years isn't a long time.
The classic market has recovered according to the guys who watch it.

I remember the car that FirstLast is talking about and even saved a picture of it since it was almost a sister to my car. I thought everyone might enjoy a photo of it.

Did you happen to get a close-up of the SLP window sticker. It's a Canadian car but I've never confirmed the build #

Re: 2001 SLP Firehawk 10th anniversary Convertible Value
A similar 2001 (NBM?) vert but automatic was posted right here a few months back around the $20-22K range. $20K is about right for that. It's still a buyer's market. The anniversary model vert (black and gold) would be much more desireable. Is this what you have?
SLP factory mods of $10K? That seems high. Even with the $4K for the FH package and every option they offered it's tough to get to $10K on an SLP factory invoice. Again, if this is a black w/gold stripe and gold wheels anniv car, then that probably cost a few extra grand too. I'd think a true 10th anniv car with all the options is closer to $25K than $20K. You almost never see these.
There's no way to compare an essentially no miles car (ie 88 miles) vs. one with 20,000 miles. They are like night and day to hard core collectors. And they will pay big money for those cars with under 1,000 or even under 100-500 miles.

Re: 2001 SLP Firehawk 10th anniversary Convertible Value
If this is a Canadian car than 10 for the FH & 10th Anniversary option would be right on. This is the right time to buy a Firehawk as most buyers and sellers have no idea what these cars are going to be worth. I remember standing in a Dodge Dealership looking at a Charger. It had a fiberglass nose and a big wing on the back. The salesman said that it was a total waste of 3 grand for some plastic.
