The paint blistering is a known issue on 97-02 cars. It is pretty much inevitable. It was a problem with the adhesive so it wasn't anything you did or did not do.

Yeah, I have owned 4 birds, a 2000 & 3 2002s. 2 of the 02's were already repaired. This car was the lone holdout. On another forum, talk is keeping it out of the sun & heat will prolong life. Cars that are outside 24/7 deteriorate more quickly. The 2000 ws6 received a pass here when an 88 year old woman pulled out in front of me & totaled it with 3616 miles on it. Her license got revoked after the accident. Vulcan Beeotch.

Vacation week, so I went to check on the ws6 Tuesday the 19th. Car was in the paint booth. With any luck, I may get it back Friday afternoon. Man, I hope so. That car has been gone too long.

Talked to body shop owner today & the car is done. He is going to make a special trip to the office Saturday morning, so I can pick it up. I am giving him the Firehawk in exchange. LF fender got scratched by ?? coming off the wheel well. I'm not worried about paint matching as they have computer technology to perfectly match any color. The iroc spoiler I put on my ws6 was red when I bought it. It's now navy blue metallic & people have asked me if that spoiler came on the car from the factory. Absolutely perfect match.

Man, it really sucks to have to do a full on paint correction on my ws6 after it comes home from the body shop. All it had done was replace the sail panel & blend it in. They did that beautifully, but........there is a film that looks like snake skin boots all over the entire car. Really dulls the paint down. Glass & wheels included. For those who are interested, it's taking an orange Lake Country cutting pad with a heavy cut compound to remove.

If this is an attempt at humor, I don't get it.

To me it reads that you have a WS6 & a Firehawk. You are getting work done on the WS6 and you are giving the shop the Firehawk as payment

And yes indeed, I am billing the paint & body shop for a 2 stage paint correction. They are the ones who effed it up.

They are also buying the items that got damaged or disappeared while the car was in their care. Black onyx fuse box covers were missing & a polished, stainless front bumper support cover was damaged. Some idiot thought it just lifted off & bent the hell out of it. Never mind the bolts holding it down.

Well, the car is going back for a repaint. When they replaced the sail panel, they covered the car with some kind of soap to protect from overspray. Idiots didn't wash it off before they put the car in the oven to dry the paint. Cooked the soap all the way through the clear. Started with .8 & .9 mils of clear over the entire car. 4 sessions of heavy paint correction, aggressive pad with heavy cut compound, & it's still there. I'm down to .3 mils. So that tells me it's all the way through. Free repaint to return it to the show car paint it had when it went in.

Keeping it my dream color, navy blue. If my Hawk wasn't so rare, I'd have it painted sunset orange, another dream color.

Being so rare is out the window with a complete repainting. These cars with their plastic panels need unreal body prep and paint. I had my painted. It was black. I painted it basalt black. My touch. Still black but "my" black.

What do you mean so rare?
