New guy w/ 10th Anniversary Firehawk questions?

Post by Bird Lightning » Mon Jan 18, 2016 7:13 pm

Hey Guys, I don't own a Firehawk. However I do own a '99 T/A 30th Anniversary coupe.

I'm looking at a 2001 10th anniversary Firehawk convertible.
I was hoping somebody on here would be able to answer some questions I have about Firehawks?

This car has the WS-6 Hood on it. Was it possible to specify this hood when ordering Firehawks?
The salesman claims that the car is all original and can't explain why it doesn't have the correct Firehawk hood.

Thanks.

The firehawk had a unique hood. It does have ram air but it is a much more subtle hood than the WS6 hood. Should also have 2 heat extractors near the back of the fenders on the hood. So if the car has a WS6, it is not the original

Better get it at half that advertised cost if you do, ...
Find out why the OE Firehawk hood has been removed.
Damaged, or simply disliked it?
OE hood still available somewhere?
No way they could come with the WS6 hood.
Someone changed it.

Salesman doesn't know enough details about the car.
Which is probably why it's so overpriced.

Pretty sure that's #C019.
Ordered by the owner of a GM dealer here in SW Ontario for himself. He had a WS6 hood installed & painted with 10th colours. he liked the looks of it better.

Dealer was a casualty after the GM restructuring after 2008.

So now there were no convertibles to be produced?!?
Is that true?

Too many odd stories with this car, ...

If you are asking about convertible 10th's, there were 16 built of the 139 total.

I'm strangely a fan of the Mecham

I was kind of being sarcastic because of so many odd stories about the car mentioned in my links above, since the OP asked about the convertible with the WS6 hood.
I had never heard the comment that there were not supposed to be any convertibles before tho, so I'm just curious if it was in fact a true statement.

That is true. When I decided to purchase a 10th, I wanted a convertible. Initially, I was told by SLP that they were not going to make convertibles, then I was contacted by their regional rep who told me that indeed they were going to produce convertibles. SLP planned to make 1000 10th's, but in fact, only 139 were made, 16 convertibles.

That is a very nice 10th. I watched that car for awhile. Mac told me about it. It was for sale in Canada for $20k US money. The dealer never responded if they had the Haek hood and I bought a different TA.
