Looking for advice
I am in the market for a project car that me and my 10 year old son can work on together. I have always been a Camaro guy and my son LOVES mustangs. I've had a Camaro deal and 2 mustang deals fall through in the last week and was looking for something else when I came across a Firehawk. I remember seeing and hearing about these when I was a lot younger and was pretty excited when I found this site and seen all the information about them. I'm looking for some advice on what a fair price would be. I understand that actually seeing it would help a ton, so I'm just looking for ballpark figures, yes or no answers, etc. Whatever advice you can give me is very much appreciated. I am currently waiting for the VIN, RPO codes, and build number to verify if it's real or not and the actual mileage but here's what I know so far:
-1995 Firehawk
-Red with T-tops
-6 speed
-It was stored outside for a period of time before this guy bought it and the engine needs a rebuild (also waiting for more details on this)
-From what I can tell it has a new hood on it
-It will need to be painted
-It has high mileage (I'm guessing 120-130K)
-He is asking $3500 but it is negotiable
Like I said, I am looking for a project car so I'm good with an engine needing rebuilt and car needing paint, interior work, etc. Just wondering how much is too much for a classic car like this in this condition. Thank you in advance!

Re: Looking for advice
It would be very hard for me to say one way or the other without seeing the vehicle. If the vehicle has all the original parts it would make it a great project vehicle. He is asking best offer, if you like this one you could always hit him with a lower offer. A vehicle sitting and not running can be bought pretty cheap now these days. Good luck on your search, wish I could give you more.

I understand what you're saying and I appreciate the info. Hopefully I can get more details about it within the next day or two so I can determine if it's worth even going to look at because its about 3 hours away from me.

The hood is one from another 95 hawk. The guy got back with me with more info and I verified that it's real based off the VIN. It is build number 253. As of now we're not agreeing on price, lol. I was trying to get it for no more than 2500.

That is a deal. Too bad it is so far away from me. I already have a spare motor and trans.
Honestly, anything that runs good and is not rusted out will probably be hard to find under his asking price. Only thing to think about is the paint. If you cannot do it yourself, it would be cheaper to buy a nice lower mileage original in good condition. Price of a good paint job around here is 5k. May be more or less in your area.

Re: Looking for advice
Looks like the white one ended up about 20 minutes from my house. Found it on Craigslist last night. Messaged the guy, and he pulled his add. Decided to keep it.
I will probably help him with any questions when he gets to putting it back together.
