About to purchase a 10th Anniv, have 1 important question

Post by AZsteevo » Tue Mar 08, 2016 11:56 pm

Does the collectibility or value in the future of a maple Leaf 10th Anniv come second to the ones produced here in the states? Or are they all considered to be on a level collecters field of desirability?
I ask this because my hopes of buying a fully optioned 10th can become a reality very soon, but want to make sure it will have the same value or resale value vs one made here in the states.
Equipped with 1LE, auburn diff, Hurst shifter 6 speed with car cover, trophy mat, portfolio, birth certificate and more....

same car with different speedometer (kph)

I would recommend you get the car inspected properly as per your state DOT requirements. The safety equipment is identical. The emissions equipment may vary by state not certain but I do not think there is any difference

I have already contacted gm of Canada and the vehicle meets federal emissions standards and does not require any recalls or updates in order to bring into the states. I believe it's just a matter of pushing a button to change from kph to mph like on most gms?? That wasn't a concern. It was more the value of a maple leaf 10th vs a United States born 10th. Thank you for your reply

I have not seen a noticeable difference in resale values in USA/Canada. The rare models have a bigger market in the USA . GM sold very few Firehawks in Canada which makes them pretty unknown and not sought after. I'd say you will be ok especially having done your homework with GM. Most buyers will not go through the trouble you are going through.

FYI- all Camaros & Firebirds were built in Canada from 1993 - 2002.

Canadian cars predominately turn left at intersections. American cars are more likely to turn right. I think its something in the water up there.
