What did you hit the rear axle/diff with? Mine could use some help.

It's powdercoated.

Check out POR-15. It's more durable than regular paint and can be put right over rust. If you use it just make sure you cover up anything you don't want to get it on, especially your skin. Stuff is really hard to remove.

I keep my chassis detailed like yours. Mine's clay barred & waxed, just like the top side paint. POR 15 straight on over rust will provide a nice smooth finish like yours? It looks great. Ooops, I forgot the bit about powder coating.

The POR will flatten the surface out a little but it'll only go so far. You can apply it to bare metal but there is a prep solvent you have to use first to give the POR something to cling to.
