Long Distance Award - Norwalk

Post by Maplehawk » Tue Jul 13, 2004 1:34 am

I am sponsoring the Long Distance (with Firehawk or Comp) Award at this years rally in Norwalk. The winner will get a trophey and $60 cash. I even splurged and put up US dollars!

I look forward to presenting the award to a deserving participant.

That's not an award we've (FAOA) has ever presented. It has been suggested. I think miles/yr would be fair.

Well, it will be some tuff competition for most miles on a 2002.......expect to have at least 34K

Heck, sometimes I dream the odometer is rolling in my dreams (LOL)

Good luck to everyone at the rally and THAT'S RIGHT....only (2) weeks remaining

How about it......room for a most miles trophy by year!! Yes, reward those who drive excessively and spend most of the time on the road!

Tough competition for '02s? Where? Try 46K+, and 796 is more recent than 524, which was delivered in '01.

If there is a trophy for miles, it should be for the most. I will settle for a nice plaque to save money ;) I am closing in on 300k miles, and after doing some mods/repairs, I am driving it again every day. When I first bought my car, I think I put 35k miles on it the first year, and 45k each of the next two. Man, were those some fun years. Now I spread my miles over more cars. I drive around 50k a year.

Agreed, anyone who luvs to drive and be not afraid of the "odometer monster" should be rewarded! Now that is one dedicated Hawk driver/owner IMO.

I ain't afeared, I just gotta spread the love. My truck gets more miles, and the Hawk only gets 6 months per year, or less. Since I got my S10 in '99 with 70K, I've added 125K to it. Total of 170K for both in 5 years isn't bad, right?
