FirehawkFest 2004

Post by Rob(94Hawk#319) » Wed Jul 14, 2004 5:53 pm

Hi there, I am happy to announce that FirehawkFest 2004 will be held in San Diego on Sept 26, 2004 at the very scenic Embarcedero Park behind The San Diego Convention Center and by the new Petco Park.

It will be held in conjunction with the Camaro Club of San Diego's Fall Classic. We will have our own parking area and own judges, as well we will be able to compete with the general car show (So possibility of two car show awards!). I am drumming up sponsors and will announce them after August 1st.

I will be trying to setup hotel rooms, dinner and a BBQ the day after. If anyone has any other suggestions, please do not hesitate to let me know. I want this to be a great FirehawkFest.

Some of you may get duplicate emails, please let me know if I have your correct email address and if I duplicated any.

Please send all FirehawkFest questions and suggestions to firehawkfest@cox.net.

Also, please let me know if you are going to be able to come to the show or not, we need a car count ASAP so we can sort out the parking.

I am also looking for a T-Shirt maker as well as design ideas.

Has there been any new information posted somewhere about the Firehawk Fest in Sandy Eggo? I am planning on going and have been watching this post for updates and I would like to know if there are any new developments. Thanks.

UPDATE:

Post by Rob(94Hawk#319) » Fri Sep 10, 2004 8:54 pm

Hi everyone! I hope this post finds you in good times.

If enough people will be in town before Saturday we might be able to go to a local Go Cart track and have some fun.

First off, I have a tenative agreement with the US Grand Hotel in Downtown San Diego for rooms at $125 a night (The best rate I could get in town) and very, very nice accomodations. The hotel is about 5 minutes max. from the Embarcedero Marina where we will be having the show. I do need to know exactly how many people will need rooms and for how long, ASAP, please!

Second, I have gotten a special Firehawk Fest Dyno Day for the day prior to the show, it will be on September 25, 2004 at 8:30am at The Dyno Shop in Santee (about 30 minutes east of Downtown San Diego). The first 10 slots will be exclusively for the FirehawkFest attendees, after that, it will be open to fellow F-Body owners from surrounding clubs. You will get 2 dyno pulls for $50 (An exceptional deal as The Dyno Shop usually charges $60 for just one pull).

Thirdly, after we all dyno and what not, everyone is invited to my house for a BBQ, in which we will go into the evening just BS'ing, and chatting and whatnot.

Sunday will of course be the FirehawkFest/Fall Classic car show. It usually is over by 3:00, after which we can do a quick impromptu cruise if interest is there.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE IT, AND IF YOU REQUIRE HOTEL ROOMS, OR NEED ANY MORE INFO.

Thank you.

Rob

Dyno Day has moved to the JBA Hot Rod facility. 5155 Convoy. It's by the 52 and Convoy. Price has dropped to $45 for 2 pulls. It all starts at 8:00 as they want to provide more than enough time for all of us.

No need to register for the dyno day, but please try and let me know at robshawk@cox.net.
