More Sept Firehawk Gatherings in WI

Post by 02hawk796 » Mon Sep 06, 2004 11:23 am

Well, waiting for decent, predictable weather this year hasn't been very fruitful. The National Firehawk Rally was a month ago (Gerry and Paul visited Sandusky in their Hawks). So I hope to see some Hawks and owners flocking to a few gatherings in September. Since the spring rains were a month late, and the summer seemed a month delayed, maybe the fall rains will also be behind schedule.
Even if your Hawk is unavailable for the upcoming gatherings, feel free to stop by and chat. All Firehawks are invited. Friends and Firehawk admirers are also welcome.

Wednesday, September 8th, 2004. Madison gathering of Firehawks at Steak-N-Shake, on Zeier Rd across from East Towne Mall, just off I-90/94. From 6-8pm, possibly staying past sundown.

Thursday, September 9th. Green Bay gathering at the East Town Mall Parking lot, at 2350 E. Mason. I plan to be in the main Mall lot, near McDonald's and Perkin's. This Mall is west of I-43 and east of Main St. from 5:30-8pm, possibly until 9pm.

UPDATE: MORE
Wednesday, Sept 15th. Ardi & Ed's Drive In, 2413 S Main St, Oshakosh. Ph 920-231-5455. Arrive late or leave early, 5:30-8pm or so. From Hwy 41 Exit #116, take Hwy 44 east to 20th St, then east on 20th to S. Main (lakefront), south 4 blocks on Main (Hwy 45).

Thursday, Sept 16th. Janesville Fuddrucker's, 3316 Deerfield Dr. Ph 608-757-8700. Arrive late or leave early, 5:30-8pm or so. From I-90, Exit onto Hwy 14 Eastbound. Go East on Hwy 14 one block to traffic light at Deerfield Dr, and turn right (south). Fudrucker's is on your right, at the corner of Hwy 14 and Deerfield. Pull around back to enter, and we can flock together in the southeast corner of the lot, assuming it's not too crowded - otherwise we'll park in the leat crowded area.

Thursday, Sept 23rd. Gus's Drive In, 3131 W. Main St (Co Hwy ES) East Troy. Ph 262-642-2929. 5:30-8pm, arrive late or leave early is fine. From I-43 Exit #38, take Hwy 20 east 1 block and turn left at the traffic light to go south/west on Co Hwy ES. Stay on Hwy ES 1.6 miles (through downtown) and on the west side of town will be Gus's.

I usually wear a black t-shirt and shorts, in case I'm not next to my car. I'll be to both locations rain or shine.

Hope to see you there.

I wish I was a bit closer, but a 400 mile trip for Steak and Shake??? I don't know about that.

Ron, you're a real hero for continuing to organize these events. :))
Unfortunately, I'm out of town again for both these days or you could be sure I would be there (and Judy won't drive stick shift!). Say hello to everybody for us, and I hope the weather is fine.

Norwalk was another great year. We missed you!

Cheers. --Gerry

oops, I just checked this email address.

yeah, I was in Sandusky, but more or less just stumbled across a hotel lot full of Hawks and WS6's :o :D I had no idea it was even going on and we just happed to take a ride that weekend to Cleveland to visit the dealer where I bought my car (Bedford, OH). On the way back we happened to pick the same exit and motel as a bunch of Hawk owners did, it was VERY surprising to say the least!

Well, September has turned out to be the best month of weather all "summer" it seems.
I'll schedule one more, posted above, and if anybody else has something going on around WI, I can still distribute the info to the other Owners.
I'd like to say that it has been great meeting new faces and Hawks, as well as those I haven't seen in a few years. I'll be able to post some pics when I get caught up.

Hope to zee some of you at Gus's.
