BBQ in Waupun, WI June 4th

Post by 02hawk796 » Sun Mar 05, 2006 4:17 am

Firehawks of Wisconsin and Tony's Pizza are again sponsoring our free BBQ on Sunday, June 4th at Tony's Pizza in Waupun, WI.
There is no charge; grill foods & drinks are provided free. Some attendees in the past have brought a dish to pass, making a nice variety, but none is required.
All F-bodies are welcome, and we particularly encourage Firehawks to attend.
Tony is owner of 1999 #013, plus a 2nd gen Bandit.
We are planning another Cruise following the gathering, similar to the 2004 one, about an hour long.
The free BBQ is from 10am-3pm, and the Cruise starts between 2 & 3.

Anybody is free to post info on other F-Body boards, or just post a link to here.

For those who are also on MFBA.org or brewcitymuscle, feel free to post info there, being the nearest groups to us.
My posts at MFBA.org get deleted, even when I was a paid member, and brewcitymuscle has deleted me after this event posting last year.

The conflicts which mounted last year and caused cancellation have been thoroughly resolved, and wil not occur again this year. Plans have been pursued to prevent any other problems from causing another schedule conflict. As long as I'm alive, it will be on this year - and hopefully our good luck of weather will continue.

As stated, there is no charge or fee. If you insist, you may bring a dish to pass, but none are expected.

My cell # for this day is 608-577-8083.
Tony's Pizza is located at 420 Fond Du Lac St in Waupun. This is Hwy 26 and Business Hwy 151 (last year the construction was finally done). Tony's phone is 920-324-9162.

Directions.
Waupun is 16 miles west of Hwy 41 (Exit #87) on Hwy 49. It is where Highways 49, 26, 151 meet.
Hwy 41 Exit #87 is 49 miles north of I-94 in Milwaukee (I-94/I-894/Hwy 45).
If coming north on Hwy 26, get on Hwy 151 north/east. The next off ramp is Exit #146 to Hwy 49, take this exit and turn Left on Hwy 49.
Take Hwy 49 north/west. This is Main St in Waupun.
Turn Right at the first opportunity. This is Gateway Drive, at the traffic light just before McDonald's.
After 0.1 mile on Gateway, stay to the right as you approach the Culver's sign. Proceed 0.7 miles on Gateway, ending at the Stop sign.
Turn Left onto Fond Du Lac St. Enter 2nd or 3rd driveway on your right. This is Tony's Pizza.

If coming south/west on Hwy 151, take new Exit #147 (Hwy 26/Bus Hwy 151). This becomes Fond Du Lac St.
After crossing the river bridge, Tony's is the 2nd and 3rd driveways on the right.

To wrap up, Tony might again lead a mini-cruise before he has to return to his business. We have another mini-cruise planned to follow, about an hour - a leisurely cruise around the countryside.
For the mini-cruise, it is very helpful if participants bring along their FRS radios. Good FRS Radios from Motorola often cost less than $20 at BestBuy, Circuit City, Walmart, Target.

Hope to see some of you from the area there.

I had a pretty hectic year in '05 - have you sent me your email address and/or postal address yet? I usually send reminders out to WI Hawks for pertinent events.

Have you considered the MFBA Spring Cruise on May 20th? The most fun driving I have all year. F-bods come from Green Bay and farther for this event.
This year's route has not been finalized, and is being modified still, but is probably going through Greenbush again this year. In past years also went through Glenbeulah and Plymouth, too. So if some friends want to watch you fly by in a group, or take pics/vid, that's not too far away from you, right?
Do you see the other Kiel Hawk around?

A reminder would be great. My email is jesse_rumpff@hotmail.com I dont know much about the MFBA spring cruise...where does that start?

As far as the other Kiel hawk, i've seen a believe a purple one cruising around town a couple times, and my friend said he saw it parked in somebody's driveway once, but I've never seen the owner or anything, but I'm assuming that's the Hawk you speak of. Does he attend these functions?

The guy who purchased the Purple one has tragically passed away a few years back, but his wife and daughter brought it to the BBQ in 2002.

you can visit www.mfba.org if you want, and check the Bulletin Board in the Events Forum.
Cruise website is http://springcruise.fallcruise.org for info and pictures.
Starts at Racine, ends at Cedarburg, 250 miles of driving, mostly twisty, hilly roads, you get to really enjoy your car. Only F-bodies allowed, anybody who shows up in an F-Body is welcome along.
Some pics also at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/490757/4

Next weekend.
If anybody wants to post here that they are coming, that would help for attendance estimates.

Good time, great food, and good people. Thanks Ron and Tony for putting this together. And it was nice to meet some owners whom I'd never met before, now I can put faces to names. :D

Hey guys thanks for the great show! It was nice to meet you guys. Hopefully this coming weekend I'll get a chance to put up my pictures from the cruise and the show. I'll be sure to post a link. I liked the burnout "contest", may I suggest that next year you have a bikini contest or a Miss Firehawk of Wisonsin contest... haha.

Take it easy,

Scott

Like everybody else said, thanks ron and tony for setting this up, it was definitely nice to see a lot of firehawks at the same time! I wish I could've gotten there a little earlier, but i was glad that i made it for a little chit-chat, and the cruise, which was the most fun driving i had in a long time. I guess I'll be the first to post a few pics from the event, so everybody outside of WI can see what they're missing.

Oh, and also, I have a few, 10-20 second burnout videos if somebody has a place to host them, that I'd gladly share, but i've never done that before so somebody would have to help me with gettin them on the 'net.

93Hawk#63, I like that shot you got of the back of my car on your site, colors look cool as the sun went lower. Thanks for sharing.
