No offense to the seller, but I would knock at least five thousand off the starting price if they are very serious about selling the car. 31,900 sounds awfully close to what it would have cost brand new, and back then it came with a dealer warranty.

I agree. Not sure why anyone would pay $32K for a 10 year old f-body.

Five?!? Hell I'd have to knock off ten or fifteen, ...,
Those photos on Performance Years are pretty disappointing to see such a vehicle go to waste for so long.
Yuk!

Since the engine bay was moldy and rusty could the engine internals and wiring also be rusty, and mold in the HVAC system? How would a car get that moldy in a garage, flood?

Just sitting in a humid environment could easily do that to a car. I have things in my basement that even with a dehumidifier running have gotten quite moldy, esp. vinyl objects like lawn chairs, golf club bag, etc. The seller has a lot more cleaning to do on the vinyl and rubber on that car to get rid of all the mold still left. 400 miles and rusty engine bay don't go so well together. The fact that the car sat untouched for so long probably effectively raises that mileage to the 10,000, 20,000 or maybe even 30,000 mile range.

Wow! My car doesn't have many more miles than that and still looks like new. What a waste.

Hello Kevin.

The SLP window sticker lists Optional Chrome Wheels, Firehawk floor mats. Unless the poor storage casued the chrome to fade...those do not look like chrome wheels. Where are the floor mats, Firehawk portfolio?

They look like really dirty chrome wheels.

Update:
Kirban update

owner now has reduced price to $23,900......someone is going to own this car at some point in time....

This car is not that bad underneath....and the paint and body is absolutely flawless no fade no stains no scratches no dings. I get a flat commission from the seller so their is no padding on the price....

The car is very very worthwhile restoring...

Wow...the seller is finally coming to his senses. That said, $23k may still be too much, considering the $s to be spent to bring her back to original, showroom condition, especially with 400 miles.

Good luck.

I'm the owner, I purchased this car in July 02, it was the last Formula Firehawk available in the country. I spoke with the folks at SLP who helped me to locate the car.
I apologize for the images, the car had just been brought out of an 8 year storage that morning, we hadn't even wiped it down.
I drove the car four (4) times in 02 and parked it behind several old motorcycles. I was not able to get to the car because of my constant business travel.
The surface dust and slight mold (which was recent due to the wet conditions in 2011) simply wiped off. The car came up beautiful, has never seen weather. Besides Dennis and myself no one has been in the car.
There are no dings, dents, scrapes or interior wear and the paint and interior appear new.

The SLP interior components (mats/rear mat/key fob etc.) are still in sealed box they were shipped in and are stored in the rear storage area.

As you saw, stickers are still on the window too.

This is an ideal car for someone who has professional detail experience although Dennis has done an excellent job or prepping the car.

I have reduced the price to 19K. Please contact me if interested.
