For Sale: 1995 Pontiac Firehawk car # 481

Post by stardock76 » Tue Feb 04, 2014 5:19 pm

What we have here is Firehawk #481 from 1995. It is a true garage kept survivor. This is no clone.
It is Arctic White exterior and beige leather interior with all the badging. I'm looking to get rid of this for a more family friendly vehicle. There are too many upgrades from the standard Firebird to list but a few are the 6 speed hurst short throw shifter, exhaust upgrade upping it to 315 BHP, Bilstein suspension, and LT1 motor upgrades all "factory". The only thing not "factory" is the radio. It's fully badged all the way around including rims and floormats. This baby only has 51,210 miles on her. I haven't driven it in about a year but was starting it every couple of weeks until about six months ago when my battery died. Need some TLC as a small portion of the headliner is beginning to droop and the tail lights are getting brittle. That is all. Been a Texas car since delivery.

Very few minor defects. Small portion of headliner is beginning to droop. The rear turn signal plastic is becoming brittle with small cracks but passes inspection with no issues. Minor scratches from road debris but nothing noticeable. Will need new rubber as it is starting to get dry rot. 85% of tread is still present.

PontiacFan is much smarter than I am with images and has provided a link to my Ebay auction with pics and all. Thanks for your help!

Negotiable on price but not extremely eager to part with and will only entertain serious offers. Buyer responsible for all costs such as tax, title, transfer and shipping from Houston area.

You really should update the registry info, ...

http://www.firehawkowners.com/car/2052.html
Might be nice to share some actual photos too.
If I hadn't read the info above in the registry, I wouldn't have known it was orange.

It isn't orange. If you go to the Firehawk.org main site and click on 1995 and then scroll to 481, the specs are correct. That is the car being offered.

It was sarcasm, ..., You didn't mention the color in your initial ad text.
Heck it could have been pink with polka-dots for all we know, ...,

Use Photobucket.com or some other online photo hosting site, then simply post the links to the photos.
Or, people can simply go here to see the pics;

And now I'll be brutally honest, ..., Why couldn't you at least clean that up before trying to sell it?!?
Holy crap that thing looks miserable.
Good luck at getting half that much money, ..., they are not bringing anywhere near that much anymore.

No kidding, I don't mean to be rude either, but look at this car: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-PONTIAC-FI ... 7675.l2557
It didn't sell the last three times it was on ebay (buy it now of $13,980) and it isn't even in the same league as the car that you are trying to sell with more miles at the same price.

Again I don't mean to be rude, just trying to show what the market is like... Best of luck with your sale!

It is dirty and as I said the battery has been dead so it has sat for six months in my garage. I could make it pretty by washing it, I agree.

I don't believe the link you provided is of an actual Firehawk as they only came with the dual exhaust on the left and never split in 1995. People badge up Firebirds to imitate Hawks all the time. I'm willing to bet that is the case here.

A 1995 Firehawk sold on eBay 2 weeks ago for over $19,000 with 40,000 miles, so I think you're quoting clone prices again.

The car above ('95 #635) is listed in the owner's section and the VIN is listed as verified.

Also, the 2 on-the-left exhaust was an option, not standard content.

It's definitely a real Firehawk. The dual exhaust you are seeing on this car is an aftermarket Borla exhaust system.

If you want to see the car all washed up, go to the Firehawk.org main page and pictures are there of what it looks like all shined up. I don't have the time to clean it currently as my 12 week old baby currently takes all the washing time I have available. I'll sell it or I won't.
Statements such as the exhaust and what not are appreciated but who cares if you think it doesn't glisten enough. The car looks exactly as is posted on the main page and if you want to buy it and wash it, feel free. It has dirt on it. Get over it or just move on. This board was supposed to be about real people who know Firebirds and not paint queens.

One can't even get $19K for a 2002 LS-1 Firehawk with 40,000 miles unless it's loaded with every SLP option and been driven gingerly by grandpa for the past 12 years such that it looks like a new car. I'd bet that wasn't real money bidding up that ebay FH.....more like shill money. And the dirt collected in that engine bay took years to accumulate. No one has attempted to clean that engine bay for years...probably since it was last posted in the registry (Aug 2006). Either that, or the car was driven for extended periods on dirt or desert roads. I've owned dozens of daily drivers in my life with over 50,000 miles and I not one of them was as filthy as this one. And most of them I never cleaned. Was this car dune buggied in Texas, driven in winters, or both?

Sorry, you have to expect a little criticism when you are trying to sell a car for a premium price when it doesn't show well. This board is about more than just paint queens (whatever they are) and if you are open to comments and people trying to help you,you would realize that.
