1995 Firehawk price question

Post by Mich2112 » Thu Mar 06, 2014 10:46 am

What is the estimated value of a 1995 Firehawk convertible with 28k miles. Silver, M6 with grey leather.

NADA doesn't allow you to add anything and values it top at $12,100

Thanks, Mike Jones

I checked Kelly Blue Book and all they offered was a Trans Am convertible. And they said it was worth $7,100! Please line me up with all the 28,000 orig mile TA convertibles for $7K. I don't think you could even find one anywhere for sale at that low a price. What was funny was that the stock picture on KBB for a Trans Am was actually a Firehawk...lol. That $7,100 has to be $2K to $4K low. So I wouldn't be surprised if their Hawk pricing was $2K to $4K low. NADA and KBB also don't give enough credit for low miles. Once you're under around 40,000 miles I don't think they give ANY additional premium which is nuts. On some models there's little change under 50,000 or even 60,000 miles. I value every 10,000 miles lower as +$1,000. And once under 10,000 or 5,000 orig miles that increases. NADA has a Trans AM vert at $7,300 so those two sources are consistent with each other...though somewhat low.

Silver verts only show 4 made (3 - manual, 1 -automatic)...out of around 103 cars. That's pretty scarce. The '99-'01 FH verts number around 50-80 per year per the source below so they are a bit scarcer than the '95. Only thing you have to come up with is what premium to assign to 4 model years difference and the LS-1 vs. LT-1. $12K sounds cheap for a really clean convertible that looks like 28,000 orig miles. I don't follow the LT-1's very closely but I'd swag $14K to $15K not that I'd be a buyer of one. And that's based on me thinking a '99 FH vert with 28K miles is $16K-$18K or so. A '99 WS-6 TTop w/28K mi is $13K-$14K....a WS-6 vert $14.5K - $15.5K. Add $1.5K to $2K more for the Firehawk option. It almost seems to me that NADA subtracted another $5K for dropping down from a '99 to a '95 ($2.5K for model years and $2.5K for LS-1 vs. LT-1?). I think that drop is a bit stiff since these cars are close to fully depreciated by 15 years old (where '98's and '99's are now). Condition is everything so a perfectly running '95 with an immaculate body, interior and undercarriage is worth a premium and potentially worth more than a '99 that wasn't taken so good care of. Some people assign a premium to 20 year old cars because they can attend many car shows as "classics." (others require 25 or even 30 years old). When I bought my first Plymouth Road Runner in 1992 it was a 23 year old car....and I though it was ancient. Now these LT-1 F bodies are about 20 years old! (ie ancient)
