Need advice on pricing of 2002 firehawk

Post by f8washere » Tue Aug 12, 2014 5:20 pm

I am looking at a 2002 firehawk. 93,000 miles 1 owner. The make number is 26 out of 400. It is black on black leather with ttops. The only other thing I know about it's make is that it has a button to uncap the headders. It is located in Arkansas. The people are asking $13,000 would this be a fair price for such high milage? please txt me @ 5019404026. thanks

Is this the same car?
http://www.firehawkowners.com/car/2026.html
Check the photos that are available in a link on this page.

If it has "electric cut-out's", it's probably had more modifications too hasn't it?!?

It's only worth what you are willing to pay for it, ...
Sellers will tell you it's too low.
Buyers will tell you it's too high.
But in my opinion, & I'm neither, ..., I'd say I'd go a couple thousand lower, as the cut-outs send up a flag to me.
I'd want to know what else has been changed, added, or modified in some manner.
There's got to be more to it, ...
But it appears to be a well-optioned car with Bilstein suspension, Auburn rear, chrome wheels, etc.

It is bone stock. They bought it brand new with the uncapped headers. It's in Arkansas not California.

You can't buy a car brand new with uncapped headers, ...
Do you have an ad you can share? Craigslist? Ebay? Local paper?
Is that link I provided above the same car or not?
It doesn't matter where it's at now.
Or do you have actual photos you can share?

The headders are electric. There is a button in the dash that uncapps them. I will have pics tomorrow. It is an individual that we heard of through the mechanic that has worked on the car. I was going by the first link that stated the owner was in California. This car was bought in Arkansas as far as we were told and the same people own it now.

The links PontiacFan added includes pic's of a Formula Firehawk with a WS6 hood, I would wonder how that came to be? Choice or wreck? Nadaguides.com offers an incorrect option for WS6 ram air package, I don't think SLP ever offered it :), especially not with a button on the dash to unleash the headers  . Nice looking car though when pic's were taken on 7/25/2006.

The Nada option to select "ram air" may be incorrect for a FH. But if you don't select it, you end with a car worth LESS than a Trans AM coupe with the ram air package. They clearly don't know what they're doing. I'd select "ram air" for the Firehawk at least that would make it worth a tad more than the WS6.

93K miles is probably too much unless the car has a full SLP option's list. Much of the FH to WS6 premium is gone by 100K miles. At 93K miles it really comes down to the car's condition. I'd prefer an exceptional 93K mile regular Trans AM over a beat up 93K mile WS6/FH. I'd figure the car at no more than approx $11K though asking prices tend to be much higher....with very few of those actually selling. Possibly more than $11K if the SLP option list is essentially loaded.

Got pics today. From what I have read on here it appears to be a formula firehawk. I don't know how to show the pics. It is in immaculate condition. Garage kept and they say it has never been driven in the rain (don't know how they avoided that one, lol). Credit union will only lend us 10000 so that is our offer.

One thing to note is that it is not bone stock if it has cutouts. Also you say headers, headers did not come stock on Firehawk's.

I use tinypic.com to post pictures.

Does it still have the WS6 hood like the pictures on this site? If it does I would ask if they still have the original hood, that will reduce the value a lot more than the headers.

Randybirdhawk it's not the same car. My car is a formula no WS6 hood. BTW she agreed to $10,000 for it.

Congratulations on your new ride, ..., 8)
But there are a couple other things I see that make it not 'bone-stock'.
Wheels, hood stripes, rear filler panel decal, ..., shift knob, ..., rear exhaust tips, ..., none of which are stock items.

But with some input from everyone in the Firehawk community, you'll learn all kinds of new things about it over time! :D

So none of that stuff is part of the firehawk package? I've seen pictures of other ones that look exactly the same.

In viewing the 4 photos on that Facebook page, ...
Those items mentioned are not the same as a factory built Firehawk/WU6 package.
If you've seen others similar to that, then they've been changed also.

It looks like you've found your new toy & a nice looking car. 8)
Enjoy your new ride, But don't get me wrong, ..., it just appears someone is telling you things that may not be 100% correct.
Post up some more pics! Underhood, undercarriage, ..., good complete full car pics! 8)

I found on here where the car was listed for sale before in 2003. You all are right it's not original and the link above that the guy posted is the same car but mine dont have that hood.
