Not to hijack your thread, but I am the market as well for the same range although I'd like to find something in Texas.

Honestly, if you want to Modify it just get a Formula or Trans Am and don't waste the extra money on a 'Hawk. The only thing that makes the Hawk more valuable is originality. You are going to spend thousands more for it and then take away what you paid for when you could likely get half the mods you want for the same money.

That is why i am searching for a hawk in what i would say is the equal range to other firebirds in the same condition for the price that is why my search is still active so i don't end up overpaying for it.

Alright, well, still makes no sense to me but to each their own. You will likely be waiting a very long time to find one at a comparable value as a regular Trans Am or Formula, and once you take it apart it's added value plummets and it's just another modded LS1 car. There really is no benefit performance wise to a Firehawk over it's siblings unless you get a third gen one, or an LT4 one. Everythign else under the skin (save a couple suspension mods) is identical to a base Formula, which can be had for like, $4-5K nowadays. It's up to you but if you are after higher performance than factory you are likely wasting a crap ton of money that could be spent elsewhere.
