Post by slphawk37 » Tue Feb 13, 2018 8:34 pm

Looking for a set of 93-94 ROH wheels.
Just purchased a '94 Firehawk and I am looking to put it back to original condition.

I have a 1994 yellow fire hawk trans am pilot car. Only yellow firehawk trans am produced. Also, only 4 pilot cars came with SLP headers and a 325hp rating, as you can see on the dash plaque. 3 came with the ZR1 wheels (note this was done before they ended up using them on the SS Camaro). Not sure I am ready to sell. Saw your link, are you a drummer? I always wanted a vista lite.

That was taken in 2008 at an SLP day in Orlando. The owner of the formula firehawk was a member here also, but he has since sold it. That was 1/8th of the yellow fire hawks :D

Picked up 1994 #245.

Wow!!! Needs work.

Here is the short list of tasks:
  • Door Window Motor(s) - Left and Right
    Headliner
Decals - current are not correct
Seat(s) - Repair Leather Driver and Passenger
Spare Tire and Jack - missing
    Radio - UP3 RADIO, AM/FM STEREO, SEEK/SCAN, COMPACT DISC (obtain/install)
Speaker(s) - UW2 SPEAKER SYSTEM, 10, QUAD FRT DR MTD, DUAL RR SAIL (obtain/install)
Engine compartment - Clean (Mouse Nest Area engulfing wiper motor, check vents/dash)
Wiper Motor repair/replace (runs constantly when car is on)
    Wheel(s) - Obtain/Install Original
    Console - Lid Frame broken
    Lighting - very dim
    Door Liner - Driver
    Sway bar bracket - destroyed
Sway Bar frame mounting nut - nut pulled from frame
Passenger Door - paint (not covered completely) was replaced
Passenger Mirror - paint (not covered completely and wrong color) was replaced
Rear Passenger quarter panel - Paint (wrong color)
    Nose - Adjustment / paint
Healight covers - Paint (wrong color)
    Hood - Paint
Dashboard - clean check for any more mouse crap
Passenger floor pan - determine rust damage
    etc... still evaluating.
Car was evidently wrecked at some point.
Who ever repaired it did a crappy job.
I will figure out how to post some pictures.

Progress:

Cleaned out mouse nest, engulfed entire area around wiper motor.
Awful smell, just awful, did I mentioned it smelled awful.

Cleaned corrosion off all light sockets and fixed right headlight connection.

Found some used 94 wheels from F-Body brothers in IN and TX for a complete set.
That was a lifesaver. Will look at refurbishing them in the future.
One of the previous owners from PA installed some gang-banger wheels
on it and sold the originals on eBay for practically nothing.

Pulled the aftermarket stereo system out, what a nightmare.
Who ever installed it cut up the plastic to mount their speakers.

Sway Bar - Had a local guy, very good guy, fix the sway bar mounting nut.
Bracket is installed and tight.

Currently working on interior clean up. Going well.
All gutted except dash for now.

Sorry for any negatives, but I am more of a purist, I lean
towards preservation of how a car was built and optioned from
the builder. Some performance options are needed though.
My take, if you want to customize, buy a base model and f' it up.
