Polished Taillight Center Section 93-02 Firebird

Post by PontiacFan » Sun Apr 03, 2005 9:08 pm

Anyone need one for their Firebird, Formula, Trans Am, or Firehawk?!?

I've got 2 more of them now, all polished up & ready to go!
They really clean up the rear end of the car, & help you get rid of the old faded bird, ...

Sold many through eBay & all the different forums, with lots of happy buyers!

Old photos here also, ...

Same product, now available again.

$45 shipped in the US48.

Kelly

I'll take one! Not to remove the bird, but wanted to place the red reflective bird decals on it and keep my original one. Those decals don't stick very well over the painted ones!

Hey Kelly, I'll take the other one. I'll include the $45 in the second check I send for my fuel rail covers. This is great, now I'll be able to save my original. I have a HAWK decal coming for it that I ordered from TAS. I really didn't want to polish the bird and Trasn Am off of my original so this will work great! Just reply and let me know if everything's cool.

Thanks,
Doug

As soon as I have another update on the covers, I'll let ya know.
Right now I'm waiting for the decals again.

A couple of screws if I remember correctly.

The picture shows some tabs I noticed. So I would guess they have screws or something in those tabs with the holes.

You just have to remove the taillights, as they are what hold it in place.
Easy 1/2 hour job.

I would simply recommend the following.

Open rear hatch, move carpet back away from edge to access the retaining nuts on the taillights. Remove nuts. Rest towels on rear bumper to place taillights on as you remove them. (Or disconnect all the bulb wiring & set them aside.)

You will notice as soon as you remove one taillight, how the center section is held on.

This is a good time to clean under the area of the taillights that you can't normally reach!

Re-applay in opposite order, simply hold section in place, & reinsert one of the taillights. Don't tighten the nuts in the area of the center section until last, as you may need to adjust the position a bit.

Good Luck!
Let me know if ya need anything else!

Gonna have any for sale this summer? I plan on doing some mods this summer and I would love to add that fine touch of the polished light panel.

Yer Welcome redhawkD, glad to be of assistance.

ladyhawke & 427, I do not currently have any left at this point. The last two I have here are spoken for. Simply waiting for payment. Another one is in the box ready to go out tomorrow to pwtrws6 in western Iowa.

I do buy these used all the time, & have gone thru about 50+ over the last year or so.

So there'll be a good chance I have more in the coming weeks as soon as I can find more cheap ones to rework! They really do turn out great, even for used center sections. I do take trade-ins, & if someone simply wants to send theirs to me, I'll polish & return for a small fee.

Thanks!

Ok, thanks for the info. I'd like to keep the original as is for now. So please send a PM whenever you run across more center sections.

I got mine yesterday.....SWEET! Now I wonder if those reflective decals will stick to it. Tried on the car, but it was harder to line up over the painted ones and didn't stick on the points. The reflective decals was the reason I bought this.
