Looking for a Firehawk in NJ (or NY/CT/PA area)

Post by JackieV1224 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 10:14 am

I am new to this scene, but not new to owning a Firebird in the past. I have decided that I would love to own a Firehawk and was wondering if anyone in the NY/NJ/CT/PA area has one to sell.

Aside from that, I came across a few Firebird Trans Ams

A 98 with 33,000 miles for 16,500 and

A 02 with 53,000 miles for about 19,000

They both say that are a 5.7 v8, but could someone fill me in on the difference (speed and engine) between a Firehawk and the two of these cars. I feel stupid even asking this question as I am sure its obvious to most of you!

Thanks in advance...

Jackie

All Limited Edition Firehawks have Ram Air Style Hoods, 5.7 Liter engines, Firehawk specific wheels and tires, 10-25 more horsepower and were available in 6 speed or automatice with or with or T -Tpos. Check out the main Firehawk.org page for more info. I live in NJ and have a 93 Firehawk with about 9500 original miles on the car if your interested. All original including the tires and two sets of wheels. How much are you willing to spend? PM me if you want more info.

Firehawk purchase

Post by randybirdhawk » Wed Aug 22, 2007 10:14 pm

The 2001 Firehawk's had the lowest production quantities of the 1998-2002 model and had more rated horsepower than 1998-1999 so not only the baddest for a stock GM option but more rare. Out of 11,898 firebirds only 540 were Firehawks boasting 335-345 horse power. 2001 was also the 10th Anniversary year model. 2002 was the last year the model was offered so they ran up the production because everyone was buying one for an investment or because the end of an era was passing.

You can sometimes find them cheaper at dealerships when they are lucky to get one because I have found out dealers don't have enough information to price one correctly. Carmax has one in Fort Worth Texas that has a price tag of $19,900. they will ship to other Carmax's that may be in your area. It will go fast though, Carmax stock number is 4328545. The Carmax Sales Manager told me corporate would not allow them to add costing for GM's Firehawk option due to lack of public documentation. SLP Engineering will confirm if it's real with the vin number. The vin I checked SLP said it was real.

Firehawks are the best if you can get one. Believe me I have had a number of WS6 owners tell me they wish they could have gotten one.

Hi and thank you for your response! You have definitely helped me clear things up! I am in the beginning stages and am trying to understand what there is to know about the Firehawks.

I went to Carmax, and as you said...it was gone!! Just curious - for that price, what year, mileage, and color was it?

Thanks again!

Oh, and Joe - Can you tell me what you are looking to get for your car?

Thanks!

Firehawk purchase

Post by randybirdhawk » Fri Aug 24, 2007 7:46 am

The vehicle was a 2001 Trans Am 2 door coupe, pewter, tan leather, t-top, std Firehawk option, chrome wheels, carpet mats, 22,000 miles, $19,599. Running the vin with SLP, it was a low production number, #17. Whoever got the deal on this one paid a little more for the transfer from OK City and then to their location.

Here is a link for 1993-24 that resides in NJ 07036. It is a fully documented 3 owner, all original car with the exception of a strut tower brace that was added by the first owner that could be easily removed. This vehicle was featured in Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine in January of 1996. I have the original set of factory wheels and trim rings with the original Firehawk SZ-50 tires mounted on them but they have a few cracks between the treads and I didn't feel safe driving on them but they are necessary to make the car complete and show ready. The car currently rides on a set of High Polished ROH Wheels that I acquired directly from ROH a while ago (Don't bother asking they said this was their last set) and have new Firehawk Wide Oval tires mounted on them. I don't want to or don't have to sell but if you are still interested make me an offer and you never know? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ talks!
