'01 Formula Firehawk, hardtop, 6sp, 25k miles

Post by T-hawk » Sun Feb 15, 2009 9:49 am

SOLD!!!!

For Sale is my 2001 Formula Firehawk.

The car is hardtop (i.e. no t-tops), black w/ black cloth interior, 6-speed, with 25,XXX miles. The car has full power accessories but NO traction control and NO CD changer (it does have in dash CD player).

The interior is in excellent condition, never smoked in, no stains, rips, or wear. Everything works like new... because it basically still is. (still has a wiff of new car smell)

The exterior is in very good condition. No accidents, dents, or damage of any kind ever, never been in salt or seen a flake of snow. Always garaged. The only real flaws are some chips from driving the car on the road and a trace of the "roof bubbles" on the hardtop. (do a search if you are unfamiliar) There isn't a flaw that can be seen without being right on top of it.

The SLP options on the car are the Bilstein Suspension, Auburn diff., and Firehawk Floor Mats.

As with many other Firehawks it is registered on the Firehawk Registry. It is car # 0022 from 2001. According to SLP's build numbers it is 1 of 7 with its possible option combo (if that sort of thing floats your boat). If all you do is consider it a hardtop 6sp Formula Firehawk then its still a rare car as only around 60 cars where ever built in this configuration (hardtop Firehawks where only available in '99, '00, and '01 and only in the Formula body style. There where no '98 Firehawk Formulas sold, and in '02 all Firehawks, Formula or otherwise, got t-tops).

If you ever wanted a 6sp Firehawk without t-tops, here is your chance.

I purchased this used car in 2003 with 4100 miles on it from a Pontiac dealership in North Carolina. I drove the car regularly for the first summer and then bought another car to daily drive... and it has basically been a garage queen since then.

The only non-stock items on the car are a Hurst Billet Plus shifter (still have the factory Hurst Shifter that can be reinstalled if the new owner wants it), the front rotors have been replaced with factory size Brembo blanks, and new PBR front pads were added at the same time, it has a new battery (walmart... don't ask, it was a gift from a family member who didn't know I wouldn't have bought a battery from walmart), and Kumho MX tires in the factory size on all four corners, and all of the fluids have been changed over to higher quality synthetics (Mobil 1). Everything else on the car is original.

I am anal about keeping it clean and religious about maintenance. You will have a hard time finding a cleaner, nicer, Firehawk anywhere. I bought this car with the intention of never selling it and it shows. The most common comment I here when I pop the hood is "Do you ever drive this car"... Kind of funny, but you get the idea.

So if the car is so great, why am I selling it?
First, I rarely ever use the car anymore. Life goes on and I no longer really have time to enjoy the car (wife, kids, career). Second, I also have the Hugger Orange SS camaro that is in my signature sitting in the garage next to it. Two cars that provide basically the same driving experience, but cost double the insurance, twice the maintenance, etc. I have 2 f-bodies and only need 1... I decided to keep the SS.

I am happy to provide pictures of any part of the car. Just PM me what you want and an email address to send the picture to.

Car is located in Lexington, KY.

Thanks for looking

Had to. Work related accident. Can't drive, can't afford now. It was a necessary evil. Who knows, I might be able to afford an 09' next year. LOL. Oops.

Sorry to hear you had to get rid of yours. Its not my favorite idea (one of those ones you know you'll look back on and think "Why did I sell the Hawk?"). But I just have too many cars.
