Firehawk Alignment Help

Post by CompTA13 » Tue Sep 07, 2010 8:04 pm

Ok, the WS9 suspension is obviously worlds different than a WS6 either way there is no specs for either the upgraded suspension packages on our Hunter Alignment machine (Hawkeye).

What specs should I set the car to >

I had it at 0.0 camber, 4.5 degrees caster and .05 degrees of toe, the tires didn't wear that good at all and all 4 separated well before 5/32nds on the stock SZ50EP's, Now that I have put new Firehawk rubber underneath her, I'd like to keep these on much longer than the last even though these lasted 9 yrs.

Tonight, I tried a bit of positive camber to which the car's suspension really woke up and said "drive me", anyone played with camber to see any results being as the caster will not wear tires

I can't get anyone to do my alignment. It is too low to the ground. I can't get it up on the lift at most places.

Hmmmm.... I've taken mine in and had it done when the Pontiac dealer was open where my buddy was the head mechanic and knows tons about F-bods and Hawks. I had no issue getting mine up on the alignment lift, I got the Bilstien setup along with SLP weld in SFC's. I had to have mine done twice though as the first time I took it in they found there machine was out of wack. So they took me across the street to the Chevy dealer where he moved to after they closed and put me on one they have which they use for all they're Vette's and Camaro's.

with the turbo pipping and the front end lowered almost 2'' mine makes it on the alignment rack.. it rubs slightly but nothing damaging. I've seen some shops have a drive on style so no need to drive up ramps

If they will use 2"x10" boards on top of the lift racks the cars will clear a alignment rack... unfortunately the specs for 98-02 Firebirds wont work as the hawks sit lower, throwing off alignment specs the machine say are correct....

If anyone is in or around the Memphis area... I will happily do your alignment, provided we can get the correct specs!!! Dave can ya help us out ??

Let me know if you find out an answer, I'd like to know what they are suppose to be set at. Be curious to know if mine was set up on the Hawk profile. I'll ask my mechanic buddy tomorrow if he can see if they have certain specs on file for the Hawks

When we swapped motors in my car I just took it to NTB and got an alignment done. That was at 23k miles and I now have 55k miles. No issue what so ever. I have the Level 2 suspension option.

I'd like to know what the specs are as well. Gonna be replacing all the suspension parts here soon and would like to have it back to OEM standards.

I'll check to see if I have the original specs, it may take a day or two.
