Stock Brake Caliper questions (98-02)

Post by MotleyCrue » Tue Mar 29, 2011 1:17 pm

1. Are the stock brakes for a 98-2002 Firebird V6 the same as a LS1 Trans Am?

2. Is this correct? Front Calipers have 2 pistons and the Rear have one?

I have 6 piston Wilwoods for the front and 4 for the back.
Do Wilwood Calipers fit with OEM brake pads (for those that have that kit)? I want to go with HAWK or do I have to buy them from Wilwood?
Wilwood Polymatrix pads squeak like crazy at low speeds.

Yes, Correct, on the late 4th-gen LSx-based vehicles.
And they use the same seal kit, however the rear piston may be a bit longer.
