loss of power

Post by firehawkno.14 » Sat Apr 09, 2011 12:02 am

about a week ago, i noticed that the hawk seemed a little sluggish. After a little while of driving it, i noticed that their is a
fast clank between the 2500 rpm and 3500 rpm range.

any suggestions on where to start on either of these?

thanks

a clank/clunking sound? :? 8O or a clicking/ticking sound? i would suggest changing your oil to see if any metal shavings are mixed in and you can use a magnet. you can remove the coil packs and take off the valve covers to see what the valve train looks like, check spark plugs and wire

I did the oil change when I first noticed it. Their weren't any metal shavings.

I guess you could call the sound more along the lines of a clicking, although it's hard to specify exactly.

I'll try the other things you suggested next.
Thanks again :)

with the car running, pop the hood and >slowly< turn the throttle body open and listen to her heart for the sound and where it's coming from
