Painting hood grills?

Post by 99Hawk521 » Wed Aug 10, 2011 9:00 am

So the paint on my air intake hood grills is fading and I'm looking to repaint them.

It appears that they're on there with two sided tape, but I'm afraid I'll break them if I pull too hard on them.

Is there an easy way to remove them safely?

While I'm asking what would be the preferred brand of paint to use on them?

Thanks,

Mark

I didnt have good luck removing mine the first time. I repainted them on with a small model like brush which was the easiest for me. Then I bought the stainless steel ones and have had no issues since. I just used enamel paint that came in the little glass container when painting plastic car models. Good luck.

^^ i would also suggest just painting them while still in the hood, i repaint mine every few months with a black paint pen and/or a Sharpie

I removed and repainted mine (2002) they are all made of metal including the air intake grilles. When I removed them it took patience, pull too fast you can bend them take your time.
