HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Post by 94hawk170 » Tue Oct 11, 2011 10:31 am

Well I was heading to school and everything was great until I left the first stop sign. It felt like my car wasn't getting any power to the rear wheels and I wasn't able to go faster than 30 mph. What are the signs of my rear axle going out?

I think you already self diagnosed it... sounds like there are issues with the transmission.

Rear end would make different ranges of noise if anything was wrong. Clunking if anything inside was broken, howling if the gears were not wearing right, or more different howling from the wheel bearings.

Any updates at this point?

They had to rebuild my transmission and put in a new torque converter is it possible that it was just wear and tear that made the torque converter go bad? I had my transmission rebuilt in 2009 and had to get it done again X-/ I don't hot rod or race I do speed just like 5-10 over speed limit and no fast accelerations. I am about to garage the hawk and get another vehicle anyway

Blackhawk...........same this happened to me and it WAS the throw out bearing...........on a new clutch...so much for after market parts. It exploded.....that's what I was told. BTW........passed the emissions test and as I am driving out of the test center, the service engine light comes on............HOWEVER............found a great mechanic finally ! She rolled over to 100,000 miles 500 miles ago. Put 100# of sand in the rear to cope with snow and ice..........
