So I'm getting a computer tune up tomorrow!

Post by 99Hawk521 » Fri Jun 08, 2012 8:27 am

I've got an appointment tomorrow for an electronic tune up on my '99. It's completely stock except for an SLP lid.

Just added an LS-7 clutch this week.

I'll post the before and after dyno numbers, the tuner estimates 8 to 15 RWHP and 8 to 15 ftlbs of torque increases.

Anything I should know prior to having this done?

Feel free to guess as to what it will make before and after.

I'm hoping for 300 RWHP and 310 ftlbs of torque, but I really don't know what to expect.

Well it came in at 312.80 HP and 328.09 ft lbs in stock form!

Quite a bit higher than my expectations.

The MAF calibration was bang on already, is it possible that this is SLP's work?

The final numbers were 319.48 and 334.26, he descreened the MAF and shortened the EGR hose as well.

I'm very happy to know what it's actually got, but I probably wouldn't have had it done had I known he could only squeeze 6.5 HP out of it.

One would have to think that it must make 360 HP at the crank.

AFAIK SLP did nothing with the MAFs on the cars.

FWIW, descreeing the MAF is more trouble than it's worth.
