Advice needed for front speakers

Post by bryan1194 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:08 pm

I just our purchased a 1995 Fire hawk, all original with 43k miles. I just noticed that front speakers have a slight rattle. Most likely they will need to be replaced. I want to keep the stock head unit and just replace the front speakers. Has anyone done this and if so, what brand/type speakers are you guys using?
Thanks in advance.

Kee Audio carries a good selection of stock replacement speakers door, sail, and trunk that work well with the Monsoon setup.

The 95's doubt have the monsoon system. Would the kee speakers still work?

I took the speaker out to take a look and the rubber around the cone is breaking off. That's the "rattle" I hear.

Replaced every speaker last year with Pioneer in the doors and MTX in the sail and rear. Ran all new wiring to the AVIC-F900BT and it is AWESOME!!!!! Doors and Sail are 6.5 and the rears are 3" i think...

93hawk, how did you fit that full-sized AVIC in your dash? I'm using a pop-out screen, but would love to upgrade to a double DIN unit!

Had to remove a plastic tab that the stock unit sits on. Then purchased some different aftermarket installation kits to get it to stay in place. Then finished it off with a face plate from these guys.
