12 bolt 4 channel to 3

Post by tazman71 » Tue Apr 23, 2013 12:10 pm

hey guys. Don't know if anyone here has any experience with this, but thought I would check here. Been looking on LS1tech.
Pickup up a car that I am parting out, and it has a Strange 12 bolt in it with the 4 channel setup. My 95 Hawk is a 3 channel. Is there a way to still use this, without loosing the ABS?
Thanks for the info.

Depending on how you feel about messing with the housing, it is possible to adapt, but not necessarily a quick fix.

You COULD… add the reluctor ring to the carrier for the ABS and use the Strange ABS sensor that goes in the top of the pumpkin. I thought all the Strange housings had the hole pre-drilled with a little cover installed, but I could be mistaken on that part. If there is no hole pre-drilled in the pumpkin, then you would have to drill it to be able to use a sensor. Also be careful with the Strange ABS sensor as it utilizes two super thin wires that are too easy to damage.

Or you could just not have ABS…. or you could sell the 12 bolt and get the correct unit for your car. I am always interested in a 4 channel 12 bolt ;) hahaha.

Thanks 96azhawk.
I have just started looking into it, but didn't know what it would take to put the reluctor gear into the rear. Not sure on when I plan to pull the rear yet, depends on when I want to swap the entire drivetrain. Going to need the 12 bolt now. Parts car puts down twice the power of my 95 hawk. Should make the hawk scream.
If I decide to sell, you seriously interested? PM if so.
Thanks again.
