Cant find a Radiator reservoir cap ANYWHERE! HELP!

Post by Tommygun_98 » Thu Jun 06, 2013 9:26 pm

I just bought a used 95 pontiac firehawk w 90k miles on it. Ofcourse with my luck it started overheating the very next day, my radiator reservoir cap is not seating right ( the overflow radiator cap on the far left that reads "ENGINE COOLANT ONLY"). I went to Autozone and they don't even have a Firehawk in their listings. So we looked up an 8 cylinder firebird. Could not find the exact cap. can someone lead me to the right direction of where i can get this part? This is the plastic cap (not the metal radiator cap). Need help ASAP THANKS GUYS!

Rockauto.com

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinf ... cc=1305436

Go to Transamcountry.com and look under the rock auto section for a discount code as well.

I think gmpartsdirect.com has them too.
1977 Trans Am W72 SE (sold)
1999 Trans Am 30th Anniversary number 953 (sold)
2000 Trans Am Firehawk number 263 (sold)

You can also use just about any generic coolant reservoir cap........the indicator strip just snaps into the bottom of the cap....all you have to do with the generic cap is to drill/poke a small hole in the first layer only of the center of the the under side, gently/carefully unsnap the indicator strip from the stock cap and snap it into the new cap..... Worked for me on my 95 Hawk :) ................Shouldn't be puking coolant from there though :? .....even if the cap isn't sealed 100% because they have a vent hole in them and don't seal 100% anyhow........see this topic....

If the link doesn't work sign into the website Visit Firebird Nation and do a search for "bleeding the coolant system on a LT1"
I'm EVERYWHERE Dragan!
