update on the smoke and knock.
Turns out (and I have no idea how) one of my rockarms came completely off and was just sitting in the header. So my cadi was collecting all the oil and burning it up. My knock and rough idle are gone. I do still have smoke on acceleration but I believe it is just excess oil, gonna take it for a spin for a couple days and see if it let's up any. thanks for all the insight guys! Truely some great people here.

that's a pretty big part to be missing, are all 16 rocker arms under the valve covers?Scott Chab wrote:How in the hell did a rocker arm get in the header?

I'm guessing it was just sitting in/on the head under the cover.

Re: update on the smoke and knock.
so much confusion from the letters on the computer screen! SO, the rocker arm came off/disconnected from the push rod and was just laying in the head? NOT the header... IF so, I hope you didn't drop a valve causing piston damage because i know all to well what that's like! twice!

AZ is talking about the OP's issue. he already knows mine was due to bad valve springs

Yup, thanks for clarifying... I grabbed the wrong quote.BLACK-HAWK wrote:AZ is talking about the OP's issue. he already knows mine was due to bad valve springs
Typically... totally different problems come up on aftermarket setups since there are many more variables. I have had a valve spring break on my too, but for whatever reason, the beehives seem to break in a way where they don't always drop the retainer and valve.

Re: update on the smoke and knock.
Sorry long weekend, and yes I did, its running great so I don't believe it did any major damage. However I've been gone and haven't been able to drive it but an hour before I left , I won't be back in town for a couple weeks.96AZHAWK wrote:So the stock locking nut... came off? did you find that?TTOP350 wrote:I'm guessing it was just sitting in/on the head under the cover.
