4 channel ABS is for cars with traction control and 3 channel is for cars without it.

now if his car was equipped with traction control and since mine is not, can you swap my axle parts to his and make it work? or what do i need to make it work?

in order to make your 3 channel still work, you would need to install the abs reluctor ring on the diff carrier in the pumpkin. if you can do that yourself, it MIGHT be worth it. Otherwise, a rear end rebuild would be a good option especially since NO used rear end is guaranteed to be free of issues unless you know the history of it.
