1LE Help

Post by 71455Formula » Fri Aug 29, 2014 6:15 pm

1999 1LE Formula. I just purchased the car and the previous owner(goober) pulled all the 1LE suspension off the car and installed some kyb shocks and struts. He also changed the springs to eibach pro's I think. He said the springs dropped the car around 2''. I can get ahold of the Koni Double adjustables, but I'm not sure what springs were used. Any help with this will be appreciated.

My 2002 TA Hawk is a 1LE bird. It was born with Koni yellow 4/4s, on car adjustable, as well as the high riding 1LE springs.I think they are called GM progressive rate springs. I swapped those out for a set of Strano springs, to rid the car of the 4x4 look. Car looks tons better, as well as handles like it's on rails.

Found out the springs are WS6 springs.

That's not entirely correct. Some (mostly early production run) 98-99 SS and WS6's had 1LE springs but now all. There is no good way to tell.

Anybody have any idea where the build sheets are hidden in the hawks? I would like to know where to look before I start tearing into it.

They can be anywhere, if your car was lucky enough to get one.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the good news.
