When I purchased my Hawk, the water pump had just been replaced and the coolant flushed, but there was obviously still air bubbles in the system and the light was on. Re bled the system again, and after a couple miles of driving it went out and has stayed off since. The sensors are also known to go bad, I previously owned a 94 Z28 and one day while driving, the low coolant light came on. When I got home and checked the levels, all was good, and nothing was leaking anywhere, so I just disconnected the sensor and checked the level regularly. It can and should be replaced if you are going to drive it daily, but as an occasional use vehicle such as I use mine, it will be fine as long as you check it regularly.

Is your coolant low or is the sensor bad? If the sensor is bad you have a choice to replace it or disconnect it.
