There is a minor difference between a 93 and an 02 ... ;) And I think part of the difference lies between the front wheels ;)

One of the first runs I did with my 2k Hawk resulted in a 13.9, I've did some tuning on the PCM since then, should get new numbers next weekend ... I thinks somebody here said a stock LS1 should be able to make it down to 13.6 or so ...
My best stock time was a 13.64 @ 105...that was with SFC's only...nothing else.

No real mods yet, and still haven't dyno'd, so that needs to be done real soon...and my clutch is pretty much done. My best run this year was 13.70 @104. I don't think I was pushing the limit as much though.

I'm late getting in on this, but I ran 13.68@101 in my '95 Firehawk M6 last fall. The air was pretty good, probably in the low 50s. The elevation is around 1500 ft at that track. The only mods to the car was no air filter and Nitto 245/50-16 drag radials. The 60' times were still terrible though. 2.2 on the 13.68 run.

I think with a few mods and more practice launching it, I can run very low 13s. Getting the 60' down to 2.0 should get it in the 13.30s by itself. I've also got SLP headers to go on it, as well as LT4 roller rockers and I'll be upgrading to 275/40-17 drag radials.

I think 12.90s aren't totally out of the question if I really try to break something

I just pulled my timeslips and when still stock, I did run a 13.54 @ 104.9

.144 RT
2.16 60'

So yes, they do! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to duplicate this since the mods/added weight. Sadly, the boltons aren't enough to offset the extra 400#, although I still can run consistent 13.8's

The week after I bought the 10th I ran it at Atco and pulled a 13.04@ 106mph bone stock.

We're talking about LT1 ... specifically 93 LT1s.

I know this is a old post. Just wanted to mention that I had a 1995 LT1 Formula, with a 160 thermo stat and Borla 2 3/4" y-pipe coming off stock log manifolds. Car was a automatic with 3.32 gears. It did have a Ws6 hood/airbox. Car ran 13.90's all day long at 100 mph.

My 1993 M6 hawk feels faster, but that as we all know can be deceiving. I will have to track test to see if it can out perform the my old 95 Formula.

it is very possible for LT1s to be that quick STOCK. What you guys don't know is that ALL magazines have a 5ft roll out when testing cars.............

I know, old post.
I went 14.10s in a "stock" 89 formula 350.
Played with timing, SLP cold air kit and fuel psi then went 13.70s.
Car is way faster now.
Hey Dave, any word on the vids?
Always looking for SLP/Firehawk parts for 3rdgen birds.
PM me.

I went to a Mustang magazine shootout in NewJersey with a Mustang we built and I never saw this 5ft roll out you speak of.
They were testing modded cars and stock stuff for the mag. Evan Smith (Mr cocky as hell) was running better times than most people because he only weighs maybe 150lbs plus he has drive'n a buttload of cars, a lot.

Dave Hamburger wrote:Whenever we would test a vehicle, we would test at Englishtown, NJ during March in optimal conditions.

We used an average of three drivers (magazine, a professional and an SLP tech) - the average time would be the printed time.

The F-bodies are all over the board with times, I remember in '97 we tested a bone stock SS 6spd car and the average time we pulled was somewhere in the 13.38's. Scott Kallita (top fuel driver) got in the car and then ripped out a 12.27 and he backed it up with a 12.29! (we didn't advertise that time). In 1999, I drove a bone stock Formula Firehawk six speed at Napierville Dragway outside of Montreal. Out of the box I ran 13.30's and then with my slicks I ran a 13.05.

Sea Level, Barometric Pressure, Track Conditions, Driver capabilities and the car all play a part in your ET's. Just because you may be in Denver at Bandimere Speedway and you run a 14.40 doesn't mean your car is slow. Adjust the ET based on your altitude and you may be surprized!
