yah i know this topic has been beaten to death, but i'm gonna bring it up again....
My TOTL sounds GREAT, but.....not.....loud....enough
I'm thinking about doing a 40 series flowmaster...3" in dual 2.5" out...keep my TOTL look. I know it isnt as free flowing as the SLP TOTL muffler, but I'm not at the track every weekend so I don't think i'm gonna miss those 6 horses or whatever it is you think i'll lose by switching to the flowmaster. Th flowmaster will be louder....i think.....and the best part...its cheap..i can get this and have it welded up for 140 bucks-ish.
I know dave had a loudmouth II on his store a few weeks back, but i havnt checked back to see if he's still got it....besides that..i dont know what the loudmouth II sounds like.
has anyone put on a 40 series? or any other flowmaster? let me know what your experience was...and really dont wanna hear about some $600 magna-flow catback or STS turbo...i'm on a budget..thats why i'm driving a $5000 firehawk...hahah

Re: lets hear it
Remove the cat to make it louder. If you do replace the muffler, I would be interested in it.

Re: lets hear it
I had thought about removing the cat...this means buying some pipe to weld up to the y-pipe to make up the length of the cat...its an option i guess..dunno how much louder it will be or if its even legal
chuck...sent you a pm..please get back to me asap

Re: lets hear it
are you still using the stock manifolds??? if so get yourself some long tubes and an off road Y pipe. that will cure all your quiet problems. on that note, the flowmaster mufflers are not engineered for the free-flowing performance despite what their advertiesments say. they engineer them for the sound. the TOTL system is one of the best and most free flowing systems on the market. if you look in the last high performance pontiac their is a guy supporting 607hp off of the TOTL system. that is incredible!!! also the TOTL is one of the things that really sets your firehawk apart from other cars, so why change that?? id keep with the TOTL and step up to a set of pacesetters with off road Y. here is a short clip of my hawk with pacesetter long tubes, off road Y and TOTL catback. keep in mind car has a hot cam in it, but still sounds very good!!

Re: lets hear it
I have the 99' SLP O/e muffler with twin pipes (stainless) if you would be interested for free, either pick up or ship to TX...? I recently added a magnaflow catback...
BTW-I know someone who would be interested in your TOTL too.
