To Z or not to Z (Z06 that is)

Post by 99Hawk325 » Wed Jan 04, 2006 2:58 pm

This past week-end, I test drove a couple Z06's (and '03 and '04) and am really impressed with them. Perhaps it's because they are 6 speeds compared to my '99 Hawks automatic.

But I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up my backseat yet...

Has anyone else thought about giving up their 'hawk for a 'vette?

I've thought about it but I put too much money into my Hawk to get rid of it right now.

The MOPAR Challenger is an interesting concept as a nice affordable alternative :?:  :D

When I bought the Firehawk, my daily driver was a 5 speed...6 months later the daily driver was totaled and I ended up buying a Cadillac SLS (auto)...I miss driving a manual...I think I just need to uncover the 'hawk and take it out for a while and that would convince me to stop wasting my time thinking about another car...lol...

I have driven the C5 ZO6 and it is fun and different but my car already has that kind of power and it is just as fast different feel to it. I have yet to drive a C6 ZO6 and I might not want to because I might sell the hawk to go get one. Once I put my turbo on ther car I will already have the 500hp. I think it will come down to my pro's and con's of the 2. I think the best thing I can do is keep my car and lease a Vette. :D

Do you think the owner of the Lamborghini was having second thoughts about the price he spent on his car 8O vs the vette? Awesome power in the vette.

I say get what you want and can afford. I have always tried to mod my car to keep up with the latest vette out, but the new z06 has upped the ante just a bit too much for me right now. I have thought of using a bigger cam to narrow the gap, then add nitrous, but I am not sure. I have been planning a buildup on one of my 300zx's. I can get around 500rwhp for less than $10k, and weight just a bit less than a c6z06. I already have a nice turbo for it on order....

Always build what you want and never try to build a car to beat someone or something else. Dark Side path of broke lead will you.....

Hmmmmm. Lessee.
No back seat, can only fit ONE hottie in a bikini. Different sized tires all around. No spare tire. Looks like some Chebby, even though they stole the styling from the Firebird line (C4 nose looks like 82 T/A, C5 nose looks like 91 T/A, etc).
You can buy a Vette ANYTIME!!! They're a dime a dozen!! They're everywhere!! You can get one years from now!!
If you want a Hawk, it can be harder to come by.
For the price of a vette, I'd be looking at a Viper.
Considered it all when I ordered my Hawk. I'll likely ADD to my stable, but no need to let go of my Hawk unless I'm destitute - and definitely not just to get a different car.
